A typical day was to power up an area and put i the required workstations/panels ready for the engineers to work on. The work was fairly easy to do after a bit of experience. I enjoyed the many trips to site refineries or there Aberdeen Office. You never saw a lot of the management but i got on well with them when you did see them.
Within Asco Numatics, I facilitated organised invoices and purchase orders through the filing system in the office, and was accompanied and taught key administrative roles by the marketing and materials/planning teams.
Must be logical
Fast moving workshop that reacts well to customer needs emergency breakdowns. Direction seems to be good from upper management. Good working culture with the workshop technicians very well motivated and extremely safety conscious
Good bonus and pension scheme
can be stressfull at times due to lack of resource

Jobs at Emerson
Management are good and care for the staff. Pension scheme good too and. Some TCs think they are paying you your wages and Bully you. They are let get away with this and makes life difficult. The shifts are brutal. Pay is just OK. As the shift pattern is very hard to cope with.
Employed as a Buyer in the Purchasing Department responsible for a range of components to build PCB's and Modules.Very welcoming and friendly company and full permenet employee benefits i.e holiday, sickness etc .
Some IT requires updating
In essence, working for Emerson will grant you the experience of being part of one of the major companies in process automation in the world. While compensation packages are not the best, they are not bad either, and the company offers many opportunities for career progression, as they tend to give preference to internal candidates over external ones. Overall, it's highly recommended.
less than great salary package
A few apprenticed trained individuals, especially within the Service Department with no knowledge of a University Education but with plenty of experience with Emerson products has turned this technology company into a sham!! Very two faced and backstabbing culture so you feel scared to say anything to anyone. Very old school rules and disgusting throwaway attitude to people’s lives. Some colleagues and team worked with were excellent but senior management (Service Consultants and Senior Technical Engineer have formed a click and are very good backstabbers) have no regards for people and seem to be swayed by people in a lower position in the company!! Too many internal politics. The contract isn’t worth the paper it’s written on as they just make up their own rules anyway
Plenty of Training, Good Pay+ Bonus Package
Very two faced and backstabbing culture so you feel scared to say anything to anyone.
Technically very advanced with first rate products. Haven't worked there for some years but do look back with affection. Although a US-owned company, local UK management managed to retain some independence and concentrate on customers requirements. Varied customers and great products.
Training, engineers, products
US- style management fads
This company is a sham!! Very old school rules and disgusting throw away attitude to people’s lives. Colleagues and team worked with were excellent but senior management (managing director) have no regards for people and seem to be swayed by people in a lower position in the company!! The contract isn’t worth the paper it’s written on as they just make up their own rules anyway. Very two faced and backstabbing culture so you feel scared to say anything to anyone. If I were you I wouldn’t even think of working here!
Good salary, great colleagues in team worked with
Two faced, backstabbing culture, awful senior management, no job security.
