Health Care Assistant in Oakdale

At the start the company were very good, loads of overtime available etc.looked after there staff. However the more residents they bought in the less staff they seemed to have working. Most shifts were very stressful due to lack of staff and communication. £8.99 per hour was basic pay no enhancement at weekends. £30 bonus if you picked up a 12 hour overtime. I think the turnover of staff was mainly due to pay and the stress of working. I think if they put there hourly pay up to match other care homes they would get more staff apply.

Awful place to work they treat you like a number, they are always understaffed and expect you to work anytime they put you on.
Awful place to work they treat you like a number, they are always understaffed and expect you to work anytime they put you on and will change your shifts without asking. Do not work here, work literally anywhere else.

Stressful
This home used to be a wonderful place to work! Now its just stressful, the decor has deteriorated it looks shabby theres hardly any staff who all feel under pressure. The job advert in my opinion is false advertising the rate is not £10.55 you do not get a meal on duty, theres no support or encouragement.

A great company to work for!
I've worked here some time now. In the past there have been some changes in managers and admin roles, but things are now a lot more settled and getting better all the time. The pay seems fair for the job and the managers are really supportive. Most jobs at the homes offer you a Care Club bonus every time you pick up extra shifts, which is a really good benefit. I would recommend.

Dont apply here
dont even bother looking , this place has gone really down hill since the new "management " took over, not paying on time , getting rid of valued staff, and not bothering to hire enough staff but happy to shove as many residents in as possible meaning residents dont enough care and attention and putting them at risk, all because the top pen pushing managers are money grabbing t**ts. members of staff being spiteful towards each other and not being team players, most with terrible manual handling skills, it's all down to management they dont have a clue about care homes their business men not care home managers they couldnt give a c**p about the residents just their money . Absolute shambles should be shut down.
