Not the same
Before covid not difficult to earn £175 + per day self employed. Covid impact now making it difficult to earn £100 + due to varying work streams and client instructions. Work is varied and enjoyable but lone working is not for everyone. Engage/Marston's are the market leaders in this field and do obtain some good contracts, the drawbacks are the expected mileage of 150 miles plus at your expense per day and certain prehistoric command and control management styles.

Awful disfunctional workplace
Worked for Engage and i can tell you to AVOID the Regional managers the communication is absolutely shocking. They will have you driving excess mileage and then wont pay you for it. I have been underpaid since leaving the company

If I could leave no stars I would This place leaves you feeling broken, demoralized and leaves with you absolutely no option but to just get out!! After a while even very poor behaviour from 'senior' staff members does not come as a surprise to you.Horrific management in EVERY sense of the word, speak to you like you're irrelevant and they whole heartily believe that they are the dogs cohonies. Absolutely no people or managerial skills, screaming at you to shut up and staring at you until do.Under paid and to get a pay rise you either have to look for a new job and threaten to leave or to try and prove that you aren't being paid fair. 95% of the staff are just on minimum wage. They then promise bonuses but then use every single reason to not pay you this £100 monthly bonus (most gets taxed anyway). Have to question if will be paid overtime for any hours extra that you work and normally that is scrutinized. A lot of the staff must get paid just for showing up because they don't do much else but management never address this. They just expect those who work hard to pick up the slack leaving staff to feel like they have no choice to speak up and take matters in their own hands to try and get some resolve but of course they are then punished for this and the person who should be dealt with isn't.Not everyone is treated fairly, one rule for one and one for another. Seems the harder you work at this place the worse you are treated and respected. Clear and obvious favoritism. Can't voice concerns about some members off staff as they are the untouchables and even if you do speak up, nothing will happen.Every couple of months a promotion is promised but this place LOVES dangling a carrot and never actually delivering anything. Promise you bonuses but they won't start for a few months.Absolutely no confidentiality at all, personal issues that are spoken with management about are soon the gossip in the office with managers telling other staff and then the managers begging people not to say its come from them.Bottom line is; this is one of the most unprofessional place to work for and no one cares about the people who actually keep it running on a daily basis. As long as they keep getting their money, who cares how they treat their staff.IF YOU ARE THINKING OF APPLYING FOR A JOB, EMPLOYED OR SELF EMPLOYED, I WOULD URGE YOU TO ASK YOURSELF IF YOU REALLY WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE A PIECE OF DIRT, you will not be respected or appreciated and they just want to get as much out of you whilst paying as little as possible. The place is too

Works Well For Me
I was looking for a flexible part-time job that wasn't terrible pay. This job pays very well for the work involved. Management has been supportive and I was never made to feel under pressure. It was only a short-term contract but I knew that when I started and there has been the opportunity to undertake different workstreams if required. Some jobs can be quite a drive but luckily I live in a nice part of the country where the drives can be quite pleasant. The job had a sense of purpose and was even thanked on some occasions by customers for doing it! You do pay for your own fuel but usually, this is covered by the first appointment. Great flexibility as you can set your own workload.
