New skills to gain with high class lawyers

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Facility management are the worse as I worked under them which is total disaster but company itself it's very good and lot to learn and development of the career is highly attractive. Only place of concern is the facility managers are a total shut down. Didn't value how much hard work you do end of the day no matters to them.

Hard

Exhausting. Run by people who look after their own only. Not a place for you if you want to do well. If you’re average, fit the face they want you’ll do well. If you’re pushing to being the best, leading, excellent then don’t come here. They like to be middle , average so they don’t stand out.

Lovely company to work for

I worked at Eversheds in Leeds. I loved the job, interesting work and I made some nice friends when I was in Leeds . Such an Excellent company, good pay, good structure and management. The location and benefits were all great and fairly flexible working hours.

Avoid - Toxic workplace and cruel management.

This organisation is incredibly toxic with a very high turnover. Management are aggressive and emotionally manipulate employees. Old fashioned approach to diversity (very limited) and does not recognise talent. People don’t smile and there is next to zero engagement or development opportunities. Avoid if you can.

Classic law firm with stale career advancement

Good place to work, fairly relaxed culture, with interesting projects and strong name to get top tier clients through the door. Career advancement is made quite difficult through an arduous review process which forces much good talent to leave. The firm might offer a larger package to retain staff, but will seldom promote unless they really have to.

Difficult management.

The job itself is fine, however failure to train new staff due to high turnover results in unwanted stress for everyone. Management fail to recognise this which only result in more issues.

Not worth it!

Fancy working for a company that values their staff and doesn't discriminate? Then don't work here! Promotions offered on an unfair basis - unmanageable workloads and micromanagent. When you have an interview you are told that there are lots of opportunities to progress, but then extra work is piled on, targets given to show you can do the job - even if you hit these, you won't get the promotion, because you will be told that you didn't prove that you can do the role.

Pros

Ok pension and other company benefits

Cons

Managent can't manage - sexist discrimination.

Horrible and toxic place to work!

Worst place that I’ve ever had the displeasure of working! Horrible, nasty and toxic workplace with poisonous, degrading and demeaning managers. Bullying from senior management who are aggressive, will demean you and are very disrespectful. It was an awful workplace with no regard to the people working there. This firm is very unfair and chooses and picks who they would like to succeed based on whether or not you are a favourite. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone even desperate for a job. Working with this firm will be enough to crush your soul. Enough said!

Pros

Zero

Cons

Toxic leaders, bullying and backstabbing

Great place and great people

A typical day at Eversheds is filled with rewarding but hard work. It will usually start with login into your emails and picking up queries from different people. This is the most engaging aspect of the job because i get to deal with fee earners as well as external clients. These clients can be some of the biggest companies in the world so you are entrusted with the responsibility to liaise with them.

Good Company Looks after employees.

Eversheds are a good company they look after their workers, excellent employee benefits. The work place is fast placed but the culture and team ethic helps with daily tasks. A typical day would include talking to clients issue signings in order to send documents to court. What I learned is that attention to detail is crucial to as a legal assistant. Our team was always managed well and very supportive towards colleagues.

Poor salary, neglectful treatment of agency staff, rude managerial staff. Disrespectful

The entire organisation is dependent on Legal Assistant staff who are entirely hired from recruitment agencies at £9 per hour. The other staff in the organisation are lovely but clearly victims of a bad system. Other departments may be run better but generally there seems to be mismanagement and lack of intelligent oversight. Overtime is available and common to improve pay, but it is not worthwhile. I have known staff with years of experience denied promotions, career progression, or bonuses, largely because agent staff are treated as inferior. Those who attempt to develop themselves or take on challenges are frowned upon for overstepping the boundaries. Managers are generally ok but they are affected by a few negative managers who make the organisation worse than it ought to be. The company shld start giving staff the salaries, job security, and respect that they as human beings deserve. Only then will they solve their horrendous staff turnover rate which continues to cost the business time and money. If only their clients knew how badly run the staffing is!

Pros

Good office location

Cons

Pay, agency staffing, lack of promotions, disrespectful bonus policy, some rude managers

Only worked for the company a short time, overall it's far from a bad place to work.

The workplace culture is something the company pride themselves on and they certainly aim to provide a pleasant working environment for everyone. It's certainly a case of embracing the fast paced and ever evolving working practices.

Great people

Workload is not for everyone. You do work with big name clients. Most enjoyable part of the job was working with a great team. Hardest part of the job was the hours to ensure the workload was managed.

Good at recognising importance of an inclusive workplace

Senior management are very concerned with making sure that people can turn up to work as their whole, true selves. Colleagues have plenty of CSR opportunities outside of their day to day roles.

Work you hard but lovely people

The most enjoyable part of my job was the access to large and important clients on a daily basis. The lease enjoyable part was the idea that as clients come first, you should drop outside work plans at the drop of the hat.

Average place to work

Good life and work balance, flexible hours, but there is no chance for a career progression or development. There are very nice people to work with, but salary is very low .

Pros

Flexible times

Cons

Low salary
