Poor wage

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
I work Evri for few months but I only worked 2-3 days every week. Managers sometimes offer £1+ pp for the courier, but they never pay the correct amount of wages. I need to trace my wage every month because the managers always forget to pay the right wage. I asked my managers for my wage since April, 2023, but still cannot get my money until now (August,2023). Evri does not have the medium for the courier to trace back the wage. I only can do is asking my managers many many times to trace my wages.

Pros

Flexible hour

Cons

No fixed round, if you request fix round, you need to work from Monday to Saturday. If you get sick, you will get a warning letter and lost the fix round.

Flexible work to Evri, not to the couriers

Whenever you picked the rounds, you will not able to cancel it, but the managers has the right to cancel your rounds at their own needs without informing you. Then you will just waste your fuels to the depot without job and no any compensation, usually! They will just cancel all the rounds you picked and then assign you another rounds that you cannot do! Very flexible job to Evri but not to you!

Paid once on time in 6 weeks all the promises are lies. Less than NMW.

Can deliver anything from 35 drops a day to 180. You soon learn the management are as much use as a chocolate teapot. The hardest part is getting paid anywhere near ontime. The most enjoyable part of the job was leaving.

Pros

Leaving

Cons

Lies plenty of them.

Bad management

I worked at this company 2 weeks I’ve been told what they expect and when I done the job because some people didn’t like the change they decided to sack me. Worst place you could ever work, there are not rules, no respect, no professionalism, nothing. It’s a very disorganised place.

Productive and nice work place

Monday 2pm to 10am to Saturday, I have learned more experience in picking and packing and loading, they have good management, the hardest part of the job is the outbound, the most enjoyable part is picking parcel and packing.

Pros

Free water

Cons

Short break

Don’t do it

Overworked under paid. Management expect you to get blood out of a stone when delivering parcels. No compassion. If you want time off it’s down to you to find someone to do your work otherwise expected to come in do the work no matter what

Great job

Fun to work and getting to know people. Friendly staff also. Takes a while to learn but you soon get into the hang of it. Works great around other commitments

Worked around my hobbies nicely, just late lorries all the time was the problem

Arrived around 9.30/10am to load, lorries were a problem arriving late more often than not. For me it was a good quick job. I could get parcels done in a few hrs so had the later afternoon free. Pay was good I thought, depends how quick you are.

Pros

good people

Cons

late lorries, awful weather

Hard but easy going

Expected to hit targets, learned a few more in sights about how parcels are processed for customers, management are firm but fair, hard part first few hours of night shift processing next days

Pros

Hours and pay

Cons

Always busy

Dont

If you're thinking of working for every , you're better off begging at your local train station. You will be paying them (in fuel money) to deliver the parcels. The sign up money bonus Is a lie, they will find a policy not to pay it to you. It shouldn't exist. They take advantage of people

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Salary

Terrible pay

Don’t even consider taking a job with Evri as a courier if you have the choice. I was in a position where I needed work and so took the first opportunity I was offered, which happened to be Evri. The pay was terrible, especially considering that you are paying for your own fuel, wear and tear on your vehicle as well as doing your own taxes etc. There is no consideration or respect for any other commitments that you have and the communication is very poor. Avoid if possible.

Hi there, we're really sorry to hear that you weren't satisfied with the role and that you felt that communication and respect were lacking. We will pass this on as feedback to the appropriate teams. In regards to the pay, our couriers are important to us and earn, on average, £16 an hour after expenses such as fuel costs - and this includes time for collection and redelivery. This has been independently audited by the GMB Union. Take care, Evri.

Stressful and hard work

Job is as good as person it self. But job at Evri is very fast pace and hard work. Management has their own stress and targets to meet due to which all anger falls on staff.

Pros

Plenty of hour

Cons

Hard work, stress full

Will Never work at evri

Evri distribution hub in Barnsley. This is one of the horrible places to work. The appointed people are seemingly Europeans who show no respect for the operatives. Very rude and impolite. Long breaks ( 5 hr continuous work in inbound or outbound plus lifting 25 kg packets ) will make you feel hard and helpless This will only make you sick at the end of the day. All they need is to get the work done ; They don’t care you. Every single thing is the hardest. Nothing. Enjoyable. You’ll get sick mentally and physically!

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Extremely long hours, rude supervisors and team managers

Hi there, we're sorry to see the 1* review and that you weren't happy with the pay. Our couriers are important to us and earn, on average, £16 an hour after expenses such as fuel costs - this includes time for collection and redelivery. This is independently audited by the GMB Union. Evri is committed to good people practices and it was this commitment that led us to be the first parcel company to formally recognise the GMB trade union in respect of our couriers, we will continue to work to improve for Evri couriers in the future, too. Take care, Evri.

Hi there, thank you for leaving a review and we're really pleased to hear that you found the job role easy and that it was a fun place to work. However, we're sorry that you found delivering parcels to couriers difficult - we will pass this feedback on to the relevant teams. Take care, Evri.

Average of £0.70 per parcel

They are absolutely a joke. Don’t believe in what they say 3/5 hours a day to earn £500 it’s all bullsh*t When you see your payslip you realise they pay you something like £0.60/£0.70 per parcel. They have a very bad gps map that most of the times don’t work. I did two days work for them and they were surprise why I never went back.

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Everything

Parcelshop delivery run quite well

Driving with parcelshop Brooklands has been good overall. They are no.1 Evri depot in UK and I was surprised the culture was relaxed and the managers helpful and supportive, not toxic and dont ask too much of drivers. Work life balance can suffer at times from late returns as completing the route always comes first but routes are mostly manageable unlike other companies I've work at. Sometimes you have to take in lots of heavy parcels (over 1000) other days less (500). If you work through their agency you may not get enough work, but pay is always fair for the amount you work.

Pros

Good managers

Cons

Potentially lots of extra time expected
