Employee (Current Employee) - Croydon, Greater London - 7 February 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI have worked for First Option Healthcare for over 2 years, the senior management team have been very supportive, I am given the opportunity to make a difference to clients in their own homes and meeting families and ensuring that I meet the clients needs when recruiting for HCA's and Nurses. First Options values their staff and clients and go the extra mile to support all clients and staff.
Pros
Senior Management, Culture, Pay and Benefits, support and education

Excellent Company to work for
Clinical Nurse Manager (Current Employee) - Croydon, Greater London - 30 August 2022
I have worked here for over 2 years now and have worked with some excellent colleagues throughout that time. I have found the management team to be supportive and have had excellent training provided in order to perform my role effectively. The Clinical Team work really well together and have an excellent team working relationship. The care that is provided for the clients is excellent and they are all involved in developing their care plans and packages. The office staff are very attentive and they assist all the teams when they can. Overall this has been an excellent company to work for and the people really make it a pleasure to be at work.

Inadequate Management and lack of caring
Clinical Lead Nurse (Former Employee) - Croydon, Greater London - 14 August 2022
Following on from a previous review - of the 15+ Clinical Lead Nurses and various other staff members who have left the company (voluntarily, pushed out or asked to leave) it’s unlikely that ALL of these staff been lazy? Sadly, following the departure of excellent senior management and directors the current senior management team is completely lacking in knowledge, experience, people skills and ‘caring’. The lovely compassionate ethos of the company which appealed to many at the start of our employment has been destroyed. The management style is now ‘’do as I say, not as I do’ and to question or raise concerns about certain managers is to seal your fate within the company. The company also claims to support and understand mental health issues. Sadly, this was not demonstrated in how they treated their staff. Many felt anxious, overwhelmed, vulnerable and isolated, by how they were treated. As a nurse, if you work to our nmc code, patient safety is paramount , you value your nursing registration and have professional integrity and respect for your colleagues, then this isn’t the company for you. However, if you are a ‘yes’ person, will not challenge increased (pointless) new roles or raise safety concerns, enjoy working in a ‘blame’ culture and taking ‘orders’ from incompetent people, then this is the company for you.
Pros
Competitive salary
Cons
Poor leadership, unsafe practices, lack of support, long hours and working expectations, blame culture.

Friendly and inclusive, hardworking organisation
Group Head of Talent and Systems (Current Employee) - Croydon, Greater London - 29 July 2022
A great working environment, surrounded by a friendly team and good structure. A great mix of clinical and commercial employees makes it a fun place to be each day. Everyone makes the effort to interact and they look out for each other. Lovely office and environment right next to BoxPark and East Croydon station.Easy communication channels with the senior management team. Clear career paths offered and plenty of opportunity for those who are willing to work hard, be adaptable and want to succeed with their careers. The only people who don't do well are those who aren't willing to work hard and don't get involved with the team ethos and environment who are just there to earn a wage. You get out what you put in. If you are willing to work hard it is apparent you will be rewarded with loyalty and fantastic opportunities in your career. The team go out their way to support the field-based care teams and develop relationships with them. An exciting place to work as long as you put the effort in!
Pros
People, environment, structure, opportunity, team building days, events

Confusing Management structure
Care Manager (Former Employee) - Croydon, Greater London - 21 July 2022
One of the most weird company I have worked with. No proper structure with management decisions and they keep adding workload and used you to their advantage. No security with your job as they just get rid of you once you do what they need. Currently being managed by one person who dictates everything and not give consideration to empoyees workload.
Cons
No proper management instructions and unsafe practices

Not a place I would recommended due management
Health Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Ealing, Greater London - 6 June 2021
Please do not work for this agency !! They do not respect you and treat you fairly . They use you whist you are good to them , but when they don’t need you they just take you from the packages without warming and explanation. They don’t get back to you when you call or treat you the way you deserve it . Keep away and don’t recommend it to your friends !! One of the worse place I ever worked for . Some clients are great , but if they don’t like you they just ditch you . The agency do not support you at all .
Pros
Lack of support from staff
Cons
Some good packages
