Great place to work if your looking for money and have a passion for food! Free burgers and other bits and bobs! Can be repetitive and tiring at times but overall decent.

Highly stressful and poor management

the main thing about five guys is the pay, if you focus on that it's a good job, however the management at the store I worked at are god awful, unprepared, rude, unprofessional. either managers would chat about other members of staff, or they would be directly rude and childish. the staff were genuinely great, friendly and hard working (mostly) however due to poor management I would rarely get hours I would ask, despite performing exceptionally well I would regularly be given 12-15 hours instead of 40 like I was contracted. this was not a personal problem other member of staff had the same treatment.good pay nice crew cool company culture and events extremely poor and unprofessional management at lower levels, above them was fine

free food, new friends, cool five guys events and merch

you will not get your contracted hour

Avoid at all costs

Great when things go well but there’s a serious issue with senior management in the company. If you make a complaint it gets ignored by higher ups as they want to protect their manager. Big bully culture and if you do something wrong then you get treated horrifically

Long hours, senior management, no work life balance

Competitive and team-work dependant

Friendly management and supportive crew. The pay is good with lots of chances to earn bonuses and higher pay. Depending on which branch, it can get really busy, which can be really stressful and physically taxing.

Fun workplace and its easy

Loved this job as a student, I worked at a small store so it's a lot easier to make friends and feel included. The family value was really important in our store and everyone always felt apart of the team. It is also a really flexible job if you're a student.Management can really make or break your store, I have had experiences of both really good and bad. But from my experience, I have always had really good managers that go above and beyond for you that try and mitigate bad circumstances for you. Workplace culture can be a bit cliquey but as long as you're really friendly and talkative, you'll always fit in. This job can be very fast-paced and this is accentuated for stores which are very busy and have higher store forecasts. However, as long as you're always eager to learn and try at what you do, you'll always improve! The shift patterns are early mornings and late evenings. The closes can be a difficult part of the job as there's a lot of cleaning involved and you have work to do this at a face pace if you all want to get out on time. Again, if you do not have a manager that pushes your team and team is mediocre, you can have very late finishes.

Stressful and exhausted

Long shift, start working at 6 am, end working at 1-2 amUnreasonable shift and the duties let you exhaustedOne short break during 10 hours shifts, can't through this break to recover your tired in 15 minutes, then go back to work, and you will not leave at your official end timeI do not recommend working here unless you need money but can't find another job

Fast-paced, high pressure.

Values of the business were fantastic. Could provide more support with training, and unfortunately too much un-proffessional attitudes from general management. If you have mental health you wouldn't fit in, you will fall behind.

fast paced and demanding hard work

You can progress quickly within the company if you want to. The pay is good compared with other retail jobs and get bonuses. In busy stores you can get a lot of hours, they are also flexible with part-timers. It can get difficult when you work full time to have work-life balance as you do both early mornings as well as late night in the same week.

food on shift, paid break, good hourly pay compared to other places, flexible with hours for part-time workers, secret shopper bonus

Early mornings starts and late finishes in the same week, every week different schedule that is given usually on Friday Saturday for Monday, hard job physically for guys

Lack of overall training

Most of the fellow staff were a joy to work with but there is a severe lack of training from management- overall a very stressful and fast paced work environment

Horrible work environment

The management was very disrespectful, rude, and had little patience. Very physically demanding work. I would sometimes leave work as late as 3 am during closing shifts and be expected to work in the morning.

Free food, bonuses

Great at the beginning

Culture was really great and everyone got on but the insecurity of shifts was a big factor of leaving because you could be working 30+ hours one week and just about 20 the next

Not fair

I was put on floor majority of the time meaning I had to clean tables, toilets etc. while I feel like everyone else had a balance between. I feel though as I was one of the least favourites for whatever reason I was treated unfairly

Inclusive and Hard Working work environment.

Working at five guys has been nothing short of enjoyable: always working closely with all the crew, working hard and the benefits are also quite good.

Good pay regardless of age

Company isn't bad, management is

Unfortunately in the store I worked management were very unprofessional to the point of being downright nasty to people who hadn't done anything wrong. Very fake and political environment, not worth wasting your time on. They have a very high staff turnover rate because of this negative atmosphere

Good Working Environment

The Crew were lovely and the management generally quite helpful and understanding. People seemed friendly and approachable overall it was a really positive environment to work in. The role is recommended for someone who enjoys working in a team and having fun while also taking pride in your work. The customers were lovely and friendly. I can’t really say there was anything negative to say about my time there. The pay and benefits are really good.

Fast-paced but fun workforce

The management at my particular store were brilliant, so kind and caring towards crew. The crew themselves are like a little family and help you in any way they can. Fast food is hard work but the people around you help make your days a little better! :)
