A very bad place to work at
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Swindon, Wiltshire - 20 September 2023
Rude and disrespectful management, they don’t care about your mental health and they make jokes about personal things and everyone’s always in everyone’s business and if you need days off you get questioned, not a good environment it will mess up your mental health as many have said who have worked there or still are there.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Work environment

Don't work here
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Bristol - 16 September 2023
Horrible place with horrible, rude management who would shout at you for not reaching daily sales targets. Sometimes I would start at 6am doing delivery warehouse work even though it was not part of the job description as a sales associate. They gave way too many hours without considering my mental health. Horrible shop with horrific clothes anyway

Terrible work place
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Derby, Derbyshire - 14 September 2023
I was treated horribly the whole time I was there, even when I was really unwell they never allowed me to have a day off and when I was working they made me work ridiculous hours whilst I was at college and I couldn’t commit. I DO NOT RECOMMEND WORKING HERE

Decent
Supervisor (Current Employee) - Leeds, West Yorkshire - 17 August 2023
Too much hard work and stress for money aswell as no chance of promotion unless you move to another store and they come back which takes at least 2 years

Vibes
Sale Assistant (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 14 August 2023
Perfect job between ages 17-24 because most staff are around that age, most staff are nice and work is never boring when you have people with you Pay is shocking and minimum, especially when you're working with people older and doing the exact same work for lesser money Management is decent but there's clear favouritism Questionable customers that can make girls uncomfortable Overall very chill environment

Fired for no reason
Retail Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Kingston upon Hull - 11 August 2023
Only worked here a month when it first opened in Hull, St Stephens, the first rota was put on the board and I wrote down my times down in my diary, little did I know they had changed some of the times around before my next shift. I was given a warning for being late even though I didn't know. This happened a second time when I didn't turn up to my shift because it had yet again been changed, I was then taken into the office and told to hand in my lanyard and I would no longer be working there. Was a wasted journey into the city centre to then go back again
Pros
Friendly workers
Cons
Management

Experience working at Footasylum
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Leicester - 6 August 2023
It’s a good place to work however I think for progression opportunities there are other companies who have a plethora of options that this company does not offer. But overall it’s fair to say this company is a good company.
Pros
Staff discount on items this company sells in-store.
Cons
Long hours and unorganised at times.

Poor pay
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Leicester, Leicestershire - 6 August 2023
The pay that was offered for the amount of work managers expected us to do was unjust, on top of that, some managers built a toxic work environment with alot of gossip which was a great way of pushing out those who were disliked despite being skilled at the job.

It was fun
Retail Assistant (Former Employee) - Milton Keynes - 4 August 2023
The people there were really energetic and full of life and personality - this was refreshing and encouraging. Anytime something bad would happen, like for example forgetting to remove a tag, they didn’t shout at you. They’d just tell you what to do next time. They’d never rush you on the till, all in all it was actually a very fun job.
Pros
The discounts were amazing
Cons
Walking around all the time can be tiring

Not that great
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Cheshunt, Hertfordshire - 2 August 2023
A typical day at work is extremely slow paced and boring however that is varied depending on the area and managers of course. I personally feel like my job expectations are not in proportion to the pay.
Pros
Seeing new stock first
Cons
Unpaid break, Manager

good for students
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Trafford Centre, Greater Manchester - 27 July 2023
easy job, nice staff, management can be a bit overbearing and some do have favourites in my opinion. They don't really let you speak to other collegues but talk themselves . Overall it is alright.

Inconsistent, poor management
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Liverpool - 23 July 2023
Don’t get a job here if you value either Routine, consistency or your overall sanity. Management is poor from the top down. The supervisors try their best but don’t get the support they probably need due to staff restrictions or a general lack of synergy. Nearly all of the long-standing staff have been replaced by teenagers most likely for cost cutting measures. The shop is dangerously understaffed due to staff budgeting issues. This in my eyes is because of a vicious circle created by the management that I will try to explain below: All experienced staff leave > Staff replaced by people with no experience > inexperienced staff don’t know how to sell on the shop floor or get KPIs effectively or simply don’t care because they’re earning about £5 an hour > shop doesn’t meet target > staff budget cut > the vicious circle restarts. In the recent minimum wage increase as of April 2023 all staff were put onto minimum wage, this did nothing for morale as the staff don’t like being used as tools for cost cutting measures when everyone works so hard. Hours are long and unsociable compared to other businesses located close by. Overall I’ve made some good friends and memories at the company but it is time to move on before the company either does not exist or moves elsewhere.
Pros
20% discount
Cons
Poor management, No advancement, no budget for overtime or extra needed hours, minimum wage

Awful working environment
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Argyll street - 22 July 2023

Awful ruined my mental health
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 13 July 2023
Management and staff turnover is ridiculous, definitely favouritism with the management. Management don’t want the OG staff working there as they weren’t hired or trained by them. Rude and disrespectful, left many shifts crying

Easy job, minimum wage
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Braehead, Glasgow - 21 June 2023
Easy job but can be very boring especially on weekdays when it isn't busy, also pay is only minimum wage. Manager turnover is constant and visits from higher ups in the company can be stressful
