Who is ForFarmers?

Do you ever stop to wonder where your Sunday morning soft-boiled egg came from? Or the milk in your cafè latte? Or what about the smoked sausage and bacon served with your kale? It will come as no surprise to you that the animals which produce these products need to eat themselves too. And that’s where ForFarmers comes into the equation.

ForFarmers produces feed for cattle, pigs and poultry in both conventional and organic livestock farming. And that probably sounds a great deal simpler than it actually is. Make no mistake: an awful lot of knowledge, research and innovation has gone into one of those seemingly simple-looking chunks. And these are the kind of things we, as a company, invest a great deal in.

‘You are what you eat’ most definitely applies to animals too. Feed has a major impact on the animals’ health, wellbeing and productivity. And on the flavour and quality of the products they subsequently produce. The feed is therefore also incredibly important to the farmer’s results. And, as a direct result of this, his future perspective.

Not a bad job but paid less than other places

In Penrith the staff get paid less than For Farmers other mills. The job pays 5% below average drivers salary. The management keep promising to review it.

Terrible company

The clueless management have ruined this company it is being run into the ground. The workers in the mill are so stressed out and not happy some have started leaving. The lads told me not long ago it was the best place to work a happy workforce and everyone got stuck in but not anymore. I gave up a job with what I thought was terrible company to come here but realised it was great job after all so didn't stop long at For Farmers I have returned to my old job after a bit of grovling. The money looks good but it's days, nights, weekends and bank holidays 12 hour shifts, You have no life. Believe me don't give up what you think is a bad job to come here money is not everything.

Forfarmers as a Company have a lot of good benefits, after working there15 years, unfortunately whilst employed as a driver at Preston the Management is poor. The Operaton Manager has no idea the worst Manager I have ever worked with and neither does the transport Manager who I'm surprised still hold their operators license, It needs a big shake up to succeed.

Good place to work

If you turn up and do your job properly it will be absolutely fine. If you mess up and admit your mistakes and take it on the chin you will gain good rapport. It's a job as with any job, do your job properly you won't have many issues. Nothings perfect.
