Four Seasons Health Care selected this as a representative review
I only worked at Doulton Court sutton on sea for a short time due to personal circumstances. I enjoyed my time there very much. The management team were very approachable and had time to listen to staffs concerns. The staff team welcomed and accepted me into the team. The residents were very well cared for and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Pros

Free meals

Cons

Long hours

Don’t work to be degraded just look elsewhere

By far the worst place I’ve worked , no stable management structure which is then fed down the line so it if goes bottoms up management will pass the buck . Deputy manager who wears a matrons uniform who isn’t nurse qualified . Poor staffing levels meaning the staff are constantly tired and no incentive to look at the job as a long term placement

Pros

Lazy staff always find time for a cigarette

Cons

Long hours, poor staffing, unapproachable management

Lovely place to work

I was working for FSHC for 3years. They will definitely appreciate the right and hardworking staff. All staff are very friendly and helpful. I joined as a HCA then Sr CARER in year time, later they gave me an opportunity to work as a Maintenance. Unfortunately my personal reason I left the company but I always happy to work FSHC again.

Pros

Free lunch

Cons

12 hours shift

Alot of input put into residents care

Worked with this company for 9 years In 2 locations So very differently managed. Depends on the location size of home and staffing levels.Nobody wants to work short staffed. On the whole I liked working with this company

Pros

First care home Encouraged to gain qualifications If required, supportive and valued

Cons

Its to be expected to do 12 hr shifts but open to negotiation with management

Would not recommend

I started here with high expectations as I have never worked in a care home before.I worked in a hospital. But it soon dawned in me I made a mistake it was the worse experience of my life.I don't even know how to explain how awful it actually was.Very short staff.Never really saw managerment they just hid away.Had nurses on shift but i also rarely saw them only in handover and when they did the tablet round. They did not help with personal care at all even when call bells were going and the poor residents we're shouting out for help. Most days there was just 2 carers to do all personal care on bed bound people and serve all the meals as well as help to feed the residents. And there was about 20 residents at the time.No activities ever happened because the two carers that we're on.Was just on a continuous cycle of rolling and changing and washing and feeding the residents and hoisting and etc.It was so awful and upsetting I walked out after 6 weeks which I was not financially able to do so but that shows how awful it truly was.I felt for the residents who we're lovely.

Pros

Leaving

Cons

All of it

Pros

Supportive senior leadership team and the company like to promote within

Awful place to work

Management couldnt give two hoots what happens in the kitchen. Then are quick to blame you when things go wrong that are out of your control. Then still don't want to talk to you to resolve things.

Productive, life educational work

My first time working in care was totally different from any other job, the staff were very helpful, although they were very busy with their own work. The job had some very rewarding days, but the work can be hard physically, and mentally, there is a lot to take in, and big responsibility. Real character building, and brings a new appreciation of life itself. The manageress was fantastic, and very helpful, did find I was a little out of my depth in palliative nursing, also needed work closer to home. A great crowd, great manager. The paperwork urgently needs better organisation, as it takes too much time off the staff, I feel it could be re designed, to achieve this, the time saved could be used to have better contact with the residents, as I really enjoyed this side of the job. This is only an opinion, and is meant to be constructive. Thanks FSHC for the opportunity.

Pros

Great Staff, Great Manageress, helpful staff, free parking.

Cons

Long hours, can get stressful, paperwork although simple takes up too much time, could be re designed time

Too much paper work but supportive manager

Very busy shift both day and night, Lots of paper work, present manager is very supportive. the most enjoyable part of the job is seeing my resident happy and comfortable at the end of my shift while the hardest part of the job is struggling with time to complete all the paper work schedule for the 12 hours shift. The workplace culture is not that bad, sometimes you have working team that are very understanding and supportive while some other times you have few difficult work team.

Pros

Free lunch, salary comes right on time and always

Cons

Too much paper work, salary not commensurate to the work load

Meyrick Rise

How this home is still open amazed me. Gone through dozens of managers so there's no continuity at all and is run by the carers who shout loudest. Or swear most at the others. Applied for days but got put on nights, something they regularly do apparently. When I complained the regional manager said I'd applied for nights! The building is way past its best and needs serious investment which won't happen as it'll eat too far into the profit. Avoid.

Pros

Near by.

Cons

Management, ethos, physical environment.

Terrible nursing home

I applied to this nursing home hoping to grow and get better knowledge of the healthcare sector. However i was very wrong, manager accusing me bullying people without any proof, manager shouts at you in front of residents and i heard from others that even swore while residents are there listning. Often short staffed. Home manager got her friends that worked with in the past working there and felt getting spied everyshift. You cannot talk freely or express how you feel with other colleagues. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE place to work, avoid at all cost.

Whatever you do, no matter how desperate you are for a job, do not, and I repeat do not work here. They will not appreciate your work and values and the staff are awful to other staff and also residents may I add.

Pros

Free food sometimes even though it tastes awful most of the time

Cons

Good place to work

It’s a good place to work if your starting out and want to gain some experience, staff are nice and so are the management, they offer good contracts eg 6 - 50 hour contracts so you have some piece of mind that it’s a secure job.

Pros

Free lunch, work, staff, and management

Cons

Pay and benefits
