Work hard with no reward

Indeed featured review

If you love working above your pay grade then this is the job for you. You will never get recognition in frasers group for doing well but you will be told constantly if you are seen as failing. Expected to work over your hours most evenings even though you finish at 6 (later than most office jobs in the country). Most nights mangers will arrange meetings with there teams at 5:50pm knowing that everyone will be late home but business comes first.Teams are very much understaffed and you will have to pick up the slack for that. People at the top get a lot of perks eg free days out with brands going to football matches ect but the people who actually put in the work struggle to have an hour for lunch most days. If you have any medical appointments don’t expect to get any time off for them as working should be your only priority. The office attitude in general is very poor, nobody is happy, nobody talks and don’t even think about asking for help or you will be penalised for it. If you are coming from another town for this job I honestly wouldn’t bother as you probably have more opportunities there than here, you just get promised a lot when working here but it will never happen. The best way to treat this job is a stop gap until you can get a better one which is what most people do, it’s highly unlikely people stay past a year or two.

Pros

Getting a lot of job exposure due to being understaffed so you can use it elsewhere

Cons

Long hours, no recognition, no employee benefits, free overtime, no flexibility, underpaid

Ok

Good place to work, friendly colleagues. The work is stressful as it is a physical job and it involves a lot of walking and manually lifting. Slow progression.

Good wrk place

Good workplace, personally the shift pattern didn’t suit me, but may suit others, good team leaders always happy to help and support, plenty of opportunities for progression in the role and is actively encouraged

It’s okay

Minimum pay so if you’re under 21 I wouldn’t recommend. The job itself is very boring and managers definitely have favourites. Also the schedule is unpredictable and you only get the rota once a week.

Very target based, your just a number.

I came here wanting to advance to senior and further. Within a year a whole restructure and redundancies of 200 staff was put in place. Staff we desperately needed. They now cannot replace then and more and more people are leaving. My manager and team where amazing. Above them though they couldn't (or didn't know how) to run a tap let alone a company. Your just a number, your feelings mean nothing. Avoid if you want any kind of career.

Pros

Lovely team.

Cons

Low pay. Risk of redundancy. High targets. Just a number.

Good place to work with friendly staff

A good place to work and an easy rewarding job , slightly hindered by disorganised management but otherwise positive. Great variety in work also along their brands.

It’s not a fun place but it’s ok

Working at Frasers started as excitement to work to being drained a lot of it. My manager is friendly and understanding. I can have a very nice chat with him. The colleagues are good to work with and can work as a team to get things done. Other than that and the discounts, I am not finding fun or joy anymore. Business cut jobs within IT and then announced their best profits, which makes me annoyed and unhappy. Best thing would be to consider working at Frasers as one of your last resorts. It’s a fine place to work, but it isn’t the best.

Wouldn’t recommend if you want to feel like your not a number

What is the best part of working at the company? The pay and discounts the only good thing What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The stress to constantly hit a number and staff and team leaders can be very gossipy and judge and the stress from dealing with at times abusive customers What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Not great. They try be diverse by hiring however they aren’t good at upholding it What is a typical day like for you at the company?Travel to and from work stressing about reaching target and also the rules constantly changing and management all tell you different things

Inevitable burnout

Work here if you’re a soulless robot 👍🏻 Burnout is inevitable, will tell you you’re not cut for the job if you’re not willing to exhaust every ounce of your soul, life, and energy to complete a series of futile tasks

Avoid!

Frasers are just as soulless as you’ve heard, buying loads of business which sounds great, u til you know they’re making loads of people redundant even though they turned over millions of profit this year. You’re just a number to them. No benefits, no pay rise, no progression. Great if you want some experience, bad if you’re looking to progress your career.

awful

very unorganised, most of the time the supervisors are clueless , or they don’t even speak a very basic english , therefore trying to communicate at all with them is pointless

Fun workplace but that’s it

Great people but unfortunately underpaid compared to other job roles on the market and management was quite poor. Terrible benefits as they are pretty much non existent apart from discount at stores and a high turnover of staff as they struggle to retain good employees. You aren’t valued, just a small cog in a bigger wheel.

Pros

Discounts in store

Cons

No hybrid working, poor pay compared to market, slow progression

Fast pace environment, helpful colleagues

I found the management to be friendly and helpful but getting used to the job was a little overwhelming to begin with. The amount of walking I have to do in my specific roll is very tiring.

Pros

Early finish

Cons

Rota shift

Don’t expect to be respected

Seriously, don’t expect to be treated as anything other than a drone. Management care about nothing but the bottom line, there is no morale at head office to speak of, you won’t progress in the company unless you are a management favourite, departments don’t know what other departments are doing, the systems are appalling and frequently crash, redundancy threats are common and there is an air of toxic masculinity about the place.

Pros

Nearby Sports Direct

Cons

Rubbish pay, poor treatment, overworking is common, no moral

Terrible and avoid at all costs.

What is the best part of working at the company?Nothing, terrible company. No training and incompetent management. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Language barriers with hardly anyone able to speak, read or communicate in English. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Toxic environment with incompetent management and poor levels of training. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Horrible, miss managed with hardly any direction or Information given to staff.

Terrible management

My colleagues were all lovely, and one supervisor was wonderful. All other senior members of staff are rude and unprofessional. New manger is no respect for any of his staff. Staff are not allowed phones or water on the shop floor, but senior members of staff are on the phones texting on the shop floor. Manager goes and gets a coffee while on shift. They are not considerate about personal issues at all. Enjoyed some shifts with friendly colleagues, but i’m so so glad I’m no longer working here.

Pros

colleagues

Cons

manager

Decent

Good place to work, appreciated for most of your work. Underpaid for what is expected and cannot trust job security after redundancies. Staff discount is decent
