Flexible schedule for uni student
Customer Service Assistant (Former Employee) - Portsmouth, Hampshire - 10 October 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedFlexible work place that accommodates university life schedules. Management could be improved though in terms of support for the staff. Coworkers are friendly and helpful.

Don’t waste your time, this will suck your soul out. There’s not much going on, nasty management and people. Very poor pay, recipe for disaster. Don’t do this work.

Okay
Engineer (Current Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 11 September 2023
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the Service Engineer’s work. They not only resolved the issue effectively but also went above and beyond to ensure everything was in perfect working order before completing the job. I would highly recommend their services to anyone in need of technical expertise and exceptional customer service.

i really recommend not working here, your out on long shifts (10+ hours) with no break. the customers you face are rude or have very dodgy backgrounds. the customers matter way more than the staff. very little communication with the staff, some are nice and others seem nice but aren’t.

It’s okay
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Greater London - 3 July 2023
Colleagues were nice and understanding. The customers are more of the harder part of the job. Be prepared if you are a young woman going into this field. I dealt with quite a bit of harassment and there was nothing really done about it.

Worst place to work EVER
Customer Service Assistant (Current Employee) - Fareham - 19 June 2023
If you want a very simple easy job where you do nothing but stand for 8/8 hours then it’s perfect for you. Your hours are all over the place and you’ll be having to travel to other stores as the company has no staff. Don’t ever become poorly because this is used against you!! If you have children this job won’t work as they are not flexible. Managers think they own their staff and if your younger than them then you are nothing but rubbish on the bottom of their shoe. Don’t pay right amounts when they are suppose too.
Pros
Nothing

Stressful workplace
Cashier/Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Ipswich - 29 May 2023
Some customers can be understanding in seeing it can be a stressful job but in othertimes you can get threatened quite alot, if there are issues and they're brought up to management they are rarely addressed & never feel as if get respect from the manager, he would rather get new employee's than get the problem sorted.
Pros
None
Cons
End up with depression

Stressful working environment with no support
Venue Manager (Former Employee) - Reading, Berkshire - 27 April 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? There wasn't anything good about Game Nation, constant changes, confusions with systems, etc What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Customers behaviour, constant changes with procedures and systems. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Work environment was very poor for employees in arcades, no staff room, one toilet to share with customers,HR department not very good, etc... What is a typical day like for you at the company? Hectic with clients as they were unhappy with rules and changes in they promotions, so few daily complaints and clients leaving upset or angry.

The worst place to work in
Venue Assistant (Former Employee) - Southampton - 4 March 2023
Started ok when I first started. Went downhill quite quickly after GN bought the arcades. No security, poor pay, aggressive customers. Long working hours, with no breaks, and you’re on your own. Happy for you to work 6/7days a week 10h+ shifts, but if something goes wrong they blame you for everything. No appreciation for your time or effort at all. All of that on PT contract so they can give you as little holiday days as possible. If they could pay you less than minimum wage they would. Avoid.
Pros
Some customers were nice sometimes
Cons
Long hours, working alone, no breaks, no respect to your time off, poor pay, often aggressive and abusive customers

No care for staff
Supervisor (Former Employee) - London North, Greater London - 22 February 2023
This company does not care about its staff or customers, only its own profits. Long hours, forced night shift and absolutely no regard for developing staff skills.

Not a good company to work for
Venue Assistant (Former Employee) - Lewisham, Greater London - 7 February 2023
I would not recommend anyone to work at this company. It is a dead end job where you are worked so hard with no reward in return. The pay is rubbish, the management is rubbish, there is no care for employees, you are just a number to them. The job isn't safe in venues, the pay is far too low for that risk.
Pros
None
Cons
Stressful, low pay, under valued

The worse place to work
Venue Manager (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 29 December 2022
Game Nation is the worst place to work. Management treats staffs with no respect, no good communication with Head Office, if you have any problem with management - HR always says it’s your fault, none will listen you and help you. Even if you have day off - they push you to come, many times I cancelled my holiday. Salary is funny… you work like a donkey but your wages is not enough for living.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Long hours

Easy fun job made terrible
Customer Service Assistant (Current Employee) - Camden, Greater London - 19 July 2022
The job itself is very easy and at times can be enjoyable but the shift patterns and management are a joke, if you're not strong minded this job will destroy you and the management is chaotic and the pay is terrible not even liveable in london
Pros
The staff and customers
Cons
The management

Worst place I've ever worked in 40 years.
Night shift customer service (24hr arcade) (Former Employee) - Folkestone - 27 June 2022
You're just dealing with gambling addicts on a daily basis. If you like grown men having a go at you because they've lost all their money AGAIN this is the job for you. Company don't even abide by their own handbook rules regarding health and safety or employment law, and their standard is "If you don't like it you know where the door is".
Pros
None
Cons
No breaks, lone working day and night shifts, unqualified management
