The focus of working at Games Workshop is not to paint models but to recruit new potential hobbyists. Painting models is not something that you get to do during work hours outside of painting new models for a store display (For example when a new core set need painting for the Gaming Introduction table).

Curious, but quick - the first was a covering letter, then a writing test to see if I could write articles to the required standard in the house style, and finally a face-to-face interview with the recruiting manager that was pretty normal in most respects.
