Would avoid geoamey like the plague. Horrible company to work for. Poor pay just above minimum wage, management are dreadful and now out of pettiness are refusing to give me a reference.

Good luck to all of the teams in this week’s tournament at this year in New Jersey City for a fantastic game against a great group that is so excited and proud to have won a championship with a team like yours in their last two years in this year’s World Series in New Jersey this weekend and the rest are coming in a very exciting season ahead for us and we will miss them so very very proud to have been there and proud to represent at this event

Jobs great - company not so great

The job is excellent, and although you work long hours it can be very exciting. The company needs improvement though, especially scheduling vans etc too take custodies where they need too be.

Good Job

The Jobs ok and the team is great. Pay needs to be better. Enjoy the job. Joining course is great. Hours can be long. No finish time. Lots to learn. You can work in court or on the vans

Great job , horrible people

I worked in a Sheriff court the job is so rewarding and engaging. Yes sometimes very difficult with managing custodies but that’s par for the course. The problems I had was the management and staff they were horrible. I was miserable after about 1 month. I could do nothing right. I left due to the stress it caused I had to leave the job I loved due to OTHER Officers making my life unbearable I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone

Rubbish

Awful place to work. No work life balance. Other staff are awful and management don’t care when you raise issues. Managers have their favourites and they get the better jobs

Do not enter

All the reviews reflect the company the job is great however all the managers are back stabbing two faced unprofessional people never ever known a company like it speak to each and every employee with no respect then they expect them best from the employees no lunch breaks given long hours unable to attend medical appointments no support what so ever hence high turnover of staff says it all and everyone leaves for how it’s managed not the job it’s interesting

Pros

No Pros at all

Cons

No work/life Balance

Reviews are true to the job

The job is a joke. If you’re a new recruit, be prepared to be expected to go all over the place, no matter what you applied for. The trainers will tell you to ignore the reviews because the job cannot be that bad if staff have been there for 10-15 years plus. Yes that’s correct they have, but they are on G4S or Relicense contracts so they get away with a lot more than GEOAMEY staff. No weekends, work days and times to suit them. There is definitely no work life balance so don’t expect to make parents evenings, planned shows or family get togethers.Do not expect to get a lunch break but to eat on the go. They are that desperate for staff they will employ anyone on which is a danger. You’re trained to do the job a certain way but once out there, be prepared to be told to not do it that way and be made to feel stupid for doing the job you’re trained to do. I certainly will not be here much longer because it is not the job I applied for.

Cons

Long hours. Poor organisation, poor staff morale

Listen to all the reviews

I wish I listened to all the negative comments. Its a terrible working environment you cannot trust anyone from fellow colleagues to management, and yes its very dangerous work all for just above minimum wage ! And yes there are no finish times so be prepared to work until late ! Your set up to fail right from the start. Theres a massive turnaround with staff, constantly hiring, now what does that tell you ? Be prepared to buy your own uniform as they have none ! Also under 20 min break if your lucky in a 12+ shift. They throw disciplinarys out like sweets !

Cons

Everything about this job is horrible

Work life balance can be awkward

Great job for a single person, but can take a toll on a family life, as you have no guaranteed finish time. Could be rosterd for a 7 hour shift but end up doing 14 hours. So you can't plan anything like picking the kids up from school ect..If you build up plenty of overtime you will probably end up getting stood down for shifts to balance it out so overtime isn't brilliant..Team atmosphere is great always have a good laugh and you will meet a wide array of characters. But keep your head down and you'll do grand.

Pros

Team atmosphere, made some great friends.

Cons

Long hours, pay is not enough for what you can put up with

Avoid

No finish time, usually 12hr shifts, lack of management and staff, 'team' who sit around talking whilst you do it all for them, challenge this and you are wrong and makes it worse for you.

Pros

None

Cons

Everything

Don't do it

What is the best part of working at the company?Staff that you go out with there very friendly What is the most stressful part about working at the company? To many hours no life could do up to 14hours aday no overtime paid just standard rateWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Ok management aren't good they stopped your hours if you have time off and they get brand new cars but can't pay a good salary What is a typical day like for you at the company?Could be up to 14 hours of graft

Just don't

We're do I begin training is a waste of time don't bother they will feed you lies then when you get to your place of work it goes down hill very quick. Managers have no clue on day to day life half the time. Staff will back stab you all the time and make you feel like as if you have no voice. Higher don't want to know and if you try do your duties as a PCO good luck you will be hounded with paper work and probably lose your job anyway so nea point really working for this shambles of a 2nd rate company who can't even do the job to an effective degree.

Training

The six week training is very good and intense but also very beneficial for the role the trainers are brilliant and been extremely helping for heading into the job we are about to do have loved training since day 1 and cannot wait to go live next week. Only down side I have had so far unfortunately is with payroll and sorting out tax codes but it has only been one month so far so can only hope that it’s all been sorted. I also can’t fault any people I have meet from the company so far as every single person has been lovely

It’s a great job but run by people that have no clue

What is the best part of working at the company? The job itself is great but the management are absolutely shocking. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Working Long hours with no breaks What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Everyone is so negative about the job What is a typical day like for you at the company?Crazy as can be sent from one end of Scotland to the other with no breaks and being only driver

Avoid at all costs

Extremely poor work/life balance. Management not interested in workers, communication is shocking. Pay and conditions even worse, officers have already been badly hurt and this is only going to get worse. Recruitment and retention are extremely poor

Cons

Long hours, safety issues, defective equipment, lack of management support

Excellent Career Move

If you feel bored or generally fed up in your current job then this is the job for you. Very varied job where no 2 days are the same. Hours not great for people with young families due to long hours , however very rewarding job for people with the right mindset willing to work hard to achieve. Ignore some of the negative views as they are mainly from staff who don’t want to work hard or struggle with the job (it’s not for everyone). I have found the management very approachable and dealt with any issues if approached in a professional and respectful manner. The company as most companies at the moment have staff shortages but working on this with ongoing recruitment. The hardest part of the job is building confidence when working with prisoners however this will build with experience and you learn that the majority don’t cause any problems. The most enjoyable aspect of the job is working as part of a team and interacting with prisoners in a positive manner. In general you will get from the job what you put in - highly recommend.

Pros

Good career prospects with the right focus, fantastic and professional trainers.

Cons

Long hours and some weekend work
