Staff are okay. Everyone works well together as a team. Not a great place to work on weekends as they are always short-staffed, so you’re doing the work of two people instead of one person

Lovely place to work

I was a night carer, the team was brilliant and supportive . I learnt alot from them. The training was indepth, the managers where approachable and the atmosphere was welcoming.

The worst place I ever worked

Stay well away!! If you are not liked by management they will push you out of the company.Massively overworked, underpaid and criminally understaffed.

Management is only interested in personal advancement. Those who support the management in their smoking and gossip culture get promoted. Honest and sincere workers are not encouraged/supported. Lots of medication errors, cover ups, and totally unprofessional practices carried out on a daily basis. The managers/supervisors waste more time smoking than doing their paid jobs. Total shambles!

Nice friendly environment no career progression long days short lunch and breaks

Nice place to work because mostly of the residents staff was friendly. Payroll messed up my pay more than once which leaving me unpaid when switching to permanent but it was resolved quickly

Not a good place to work

Has now been sold to care uk Changes in management very frequent and each manager changes everything you do.The staff who hand in their notice get pay rises while the rest don’t there is no fair wage structure its down to if your face fits .

Most of the staff has left. Best part of the job was spending time with the residents. Some staff was very difficult to work with and childish. Wasn’t professional, very over worked with very little appreciation.

I worked more than a year in this place. I learned many things working there. It's a such amazing place to work, clean and good environment of course with people you will get on with. I met nice people in the place and it was a great experience for me. So yesss I can recommend anyone to work there.

Horrible place to work

Horrible bully nurses, Care home manager was nice. Some Staff were really horrid to some residents. Staff were really nasty and some were really clicky together and would pick on other staff, most of them were/are sleeping together and would cause rows with other staff.

Poor Management

The work life is okay but often short staffed, management is poor, often signing you up for unwanted overtime. Everyone is paid differently regardless of skill or longevity of working there. Residents and families are what make the company!!!

No support through covid

No support from management when going through a tough time, after working through covid. Working for a company that has the word care in it's title, yet do not care about their staff?A 3 monthly supervision that no one cares about, listens to you or takes action on.

The only negative thing I have experienced is that the GM must learn the due process in an investigation and the need to learn a Humanitarian Consideration on the minor problems ... Also in shadowing, the senior carer must learn spoon-feeding if necessary!Bragging to show you are a senior is a negative point ...Humility & support is important in educating newbies ...Note: I stand to be corrected based on my experience only ...

Just a minion

Working for Gracewell was a great way to get me into care and I met some lovely people. That is all the positives I can give.You are expected to work your fingers to the bone, the staffing levels are unrealistically low. The residents pay extortionate amounts for a minimal amount of care they are able to receive.There are plenty of brown nosed seniors who think it’s ok to order carers around without getting their hands dirty themselves , they get away with it because of the lack of nursing staff.The management is cold and uncaring, not to mention totally incompetent and all about cutting corners to make a profit.All in all I will not be returning to Gracewell anytime soon. It would have to be desperate times for me to go back there.
