Great Academy Ashton Employee Review

Challenging pupils with insufficient management

Many pupils are very immature and so misinterpret kind teachers as weak, resulting in poor behavior. Systems in place, unfortunately, do not prevent recurring disruptive pupils from affecting lessons. The teachers at the school are welcoming and there is a real sense of community.

Staff Team is amazing and supportive. Leadership and management are committed to the job. Building, site and materials are well take care of. So what is the down side? Teenagers are allowed to have their phones (95% of Schools do the same) and despite the efforts they DO use them.

My review is not covering the present school but earlier when it was known as New charter Academy. Staff excellent , great team spirit. Unfortunately large turn over of headships in my time. Some excellent ,some poor.
