I worked here for a long time on nights. Back when night shift was good. I can confidently say it’s not the worst place in the world. The agency is the most backwards thing known to man. I was told by a manager I’d be getting full time and the agency worker wasn’t having it, went and found a general manager asked him, to find out in fact I wasn’t getting full time and mocked me right infront of my face while telling me there was no shifts available and That I’d be flat on my backside till there was. But beyond that production is good stuff, If you get a good team. If you’re young and are looking for a pay check every week I recommend this place. It did me good until they gave everyone full time contracts but a shift pattern nobody liked and then started firing allThe new fulltime hires. I quit as I had abit tooMuch pride back then.
Pros
Breakfast is cheap
Cons
The locker room bogs

Worked in low risk at Greencore Manton Wood for years and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you’re really desperate for the work. The environment is unpleasant and toxic for the most part. You’ll be treated as “just another number” so be prepared to do work that you don’t want regardless of what you say. There are simply too many managers. In low risk alone you’re looking at over 20. Don’t even think about stopping to talk to colleagues or else one of the many managers will have you doing 3 other jobs while they sit (non-socially-distanced) in an office. Whether it’s the “coordinators” or the higher up managers, be prepared to be treated like you’re worthless by power hungry people who forget that they work in a sandwich factory and are nothing special. For the amount of stress that comes with the job, the pay really isn’t worth it. The pay itself isn’t all that great unless you’re working weekends. A good point is that you might make some actual friends there, but it’s hard to judge who they are because of the amount of people who will backstab you or talk bad behind your back. This is one of the reasons morale is so low.I’ve seen my colleagues disciplined for taking days off due to family emergencies or for their mental health. While being disciplined, you’ll have snobby HR staff throwing the book at you and encouraging managers to give you harsh punishments. They’re more for the company than for the workers. Greencore like to act like they care about their colleagues and their mental health but that couldn’t be further from the truth. You’re met with people - more...

None that I could think of
Cons

One mistake and your out. On first day suggested to run bent. Trucks a disgrace. Overall a bad feeling as soon as I turned up for my first shift. No training, just give you the keys and off you go. Good job I asked questions before I left the depot or would have been even worse than it was. Will not be setting foot in the place again. Feel sorry for the drivers that work there long term, I spoke to a few they all said the place is a shambles. "No matter how long you've been there one mistake and your out!!!!!!!!" Got this off 2 drivers. Rant over.
Pros
None
Cons
Underpaid, overworked, lack of organisation and certainly don't care about the drivers.

Expected to work every Sunday so no 2 day weekends off/Expected to work new years day/Pomised a bonus that doesnt get paid/Horrible management that treat you bad if your face doesn't fit/Unrealistic pick rate of 1000 that is virtually unachievable even going non stop (you will sweat even in a chilled enviroment)/1 half an hour break and penalised if 1 minute late/Expected to do overtime regardless, worst place I've ever worked in my life. Only apply if it's your last resort and there's literally nothing else available.
Pros
Leaving to go home

I really enjoyed my time at greencore as a delivery driver. You had to start at 4.30 am load your van with the days work. Usually get to your first drop about 6.00 am. Really easy to do your just delivering sandwiches and snacks. My route had 25 drops so I was finished 10.30 then drive back to depot. The job was salaryed so job and finish I Usually worked 35 per week but got payed for 48. I would recommend this company for employed with this company.
Pros
Job and finish
Cons
Early starts

I started working in Greencore through agency just over 4 years ago. First few weeks were with few hour shifts and many cancellations (as it was agency). 11 months after I started working there I was offered a place in company, but as it turned out later in, it was only because of specific job role that causes people back pain as there was no rotations on work tasks. Even then I’ve asked for line coordinator support, but no luck for most of the time. That’s where I personally started developing mental health issues and to this day I’m still struggling with it along with a life long health condition. Lack of support from management is unfortunate. Most of the time it feels like the more you give to them, more they want to take away. Quite a lot of different cultures around and lack of respect between managers (line coordinators and zone managers) and line operators are unforgivable. As people are already saying, workers are slaves and are bullied to work longer hours. Personally I’ve got quite a lot on my sleeve with my health and it’s hard to work there when there’s barely any support from management. I’m struggling most of the days. The good part is cheap sandwiches. Some people working there are actually quite nice. Without a fight, it’s hard to survive there. Unless you’re in one of those culture groups with Rumanians (quite a few managers there of this nationality and workers in general). Haven’t had much experience with HR. Unfortunately I don’t know much of SSP. Last time I had heard anything of it, they only pay after day 3. Means that if you’re sick for 5 days, - more...

This is a harsh place to work, if you are a European and a agency worker you will be left alone, as they get treated a thousand times better than greencore staff, there are plenty of bullies that work there that seem to get away with doing it, alot of the lines end up with alot of agency workers that are extremely lazy and you end up carrying them making you work three times as hard for very little support from most line controllers, it is back breaking work to start with and then they will introduce more work onto the jobs you already do and the management replies to the complaints by saying "if you don't like what we want you to do then you can easily be replaced" , people don't respect the social distancing and management seem to think that you can't self isolate unless you have symptoms, you have to fight for a pay rise every year with little effect, what greencore expect you to do for the same wages as agency who do next to nothing in comparison is insulting, unless you are absolutely desperate for cash working at greencore ain't worth the anxiety, low moral and lack of confidence and a painful back you will get by working for them.
Pros
Cheap sandwiches although how much they throw away you'd think you would get them for free
Cons
Cold, standing in one place for hours, money, aches and pains, bullies, low moral, being took advantage of.

Excellent company to work for. Though there can be some stress and very tight outload times, if organise and manage the process there are few issues. The senior managers took time to mentor, listen and act on your concerns. Doing something wrong was not the end of the world, but often an opportunity to develop and learn.
Pros
The culture
Cons
Machine breakdowns.
