Croupier in Manchester, soames

Pleasurable yet tedious
A good company to work for with generally good staff and management. However, be prepared to spend a lot of time not doing your actual job. You will spend a lot of time doing other jobs and covering other members of staff then possibly not ever doing your actual job

Not any more
Worked in the industry a long time ago. It has evolved from being classed as a skilled job to now being treated as a nothing job. Yet the job requirements are still as they were. Salary is poor and the tips are terrible. We don’t live in a tipping culture so it’s a bit sneaky of the casinos in the uk to do this. If you have other opportunities take them. This would be a last resort job

Appalling company to work for
Minimum wageWorking nights and weekends constantlyThe thing I’m most disappointed with is their response to the Covid pandemic. They made it very clear that they didn’t care about their staff. They had ‘policies’ regarding social distancing and maximum player numbers but this was not adhered to. Management do not take staff comments on board and choose to ignore big problems rather than deal with them. The casino I worked in was riddled with fleas and there was mould growing on walls. No ventilation. No air con. Filthy dirty staff areas. This company have absolutely NO respect for their low level staff. We’re all just disposable to them but they act like we’re all a big, happy team!

Old fashioned industry
Management style similar to 1950s. Senior management are lazy and operate a do as I say not as I do culture, that encourages back stabbing. The industry as a whole is so full of its self they think you should be grateful for poor job you have, and openly believe you will never achieve more than they offer.

Absolute rubbish
Get targeted by managers and team leaders, treated like a number and the wages are rubbish, very anti social hours and painful job to do walking around a basically empty casino. Btw worked for the company over a year ago and still don’t like the place. Was an awful experience
