Lots of requirements for little money
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Northampton - 22 September 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedOver the past six months, many changes have occurred, but the salary remains as small as before. Although the requirements for employees have increased significantly. It doesn't matter how hard you work, you still get paid the same as lazy people. When you need to take a day at your own expense, this becomes a huge problem. Some managers make decisions about employee without even looking at you, they are not interested in your situation.
Cons
Small salary for your hardworking

Rather not say (Current Employee) - Livingston, West Lothian - 19 September 2023
Managers only interested in helping their mates. Not interested in anyone or anything else. I will be leaving soon. Some Management is really good and want to help others just want trouble. Go out there way to make it hard for some people.

Decent place to work
HGV Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) - Deeside - 18 September 2023
Decent place to work, planners and managers were fair and you are never under any pressure. A four day week was excellent for work/ life balance and plenty of overtime if you want it.
Pros
Subsided canteen
Cons
Some long shifts

Hard work, good culture
First Line Manager (Current Employee) - Bolton, Greater Manchester - 17 September 2023
Management courses offered are very good and great culture. Strong safety culture. Negative is more work for the same salary as they close/shrink departments.

Terrible place to work.
Warehouse Clerk (Current Employee) - Livingston - 14 September 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? There is no best part. It is a terrible place to work. There’s no consistency in rules and regulations and the favouritism is rife throughout. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? They promote duty of care to colleagues but that doesn’t happen. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? There is no gratefulness or appreciation of colleagues and we are thought very little of . We have to fight constantly for anything we want or need. What is a typical day like for you at the company? It can be quite boring than other days it’s very chaotic. The goalposts can be changed or moved in a minute.

Avoid avoid avoid
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 9 September 2023
If you like to be stressed, mentally and physically exhausted, GXO is the perfect place. Forget about manager support. If you complain about something, forget about getting help. Things are swept under the carpet.

Useless people & company
Logistics Operator (Current Employee) - Sittingbourne - 8 September 2023
Since I was moved over to GXO within my job earlier in the year, I have had nothing but problems and agroes with the management side of things. Everytime I was to ask them something, I would be lucky to get a decent answer out of anyone. I hurt my back & shoulder doing a task at work & after going home that day, it got worse, so I went to report it to someone when I got in to work the following week & their answer was: It can't be that bad if you have managed to make your way in today.
Pros
None
Cons
Management are not respectful to people with a disability & mental health problems.

Different
Team Leader (Former Employee) - Peterborough - 4 September 2023
I will say I have learned alot working here there is deffinantly opportunity to learn lots here . The good managers come and go. Managers and leaders have there favourites. Family members and friends are managing each other. Poor communication within the company or departments for the contract. 3 different shifts operating in 3 different ways. Some enductions completed a year into employment and not educated correctly. There's holes in the floor with reach trucks driving in the warehouse. Lack of addressing small mistakes and taking blind eyes. Bent racking beams and bars, leaking roof. Broken fire alarm and bay ramps. Contact theft of stock, bikes, food and more. Management don't value employees or feedback. Dont have all SOPs for process and procedure. Refusal of holidays is regular. Poor security. Missing and broken equipment. Most of the leaders used to be pickers so have no experience.in management or leading. There is not much guidance within the company.
Pros
Ok salary, lots to learn
Cons
Poor management and support. Unsafe building

If you value a family life,, avoid
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Bellshill, North Lanarkshire - 3 September 2023
Since gxo took the reigns, the place has went downhill, over the past year, 100 employees have left due to the pressure put on them by managers., absolutely no wiggle room in here,, it's, targets, targets targets,, even one of the so called managers said that we are just a number

Poorly run
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Leyland, Lancashire - 31 August 2023
The place is poorly mismanaged equipment is normally faulty and thr trucks and llops are coming up to 8 years and need replacing. Money isn't the best and the union on site are useless and you only get a pay rise after "negotiation" have finished which is normally 4/5 months only then you get a pay rise tho it is back dated. People that work there are great and some mangers are ok. But upper management couldn't care less.

Hard work for little pay
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Livingston, West Lothian - 30 August 2023
Targets, targets targets . Work work work , all about cases out the door no matter how it is done . Yes there’s overtime available but only because they are so short staffed all the time New starts typically last 1/2 weeks Promised the world, treated like a dog

Not too bad
Driver (Current Employee) - Trafford Park, Greater Manchester - 26 August 2023
Not a bad place to work, as long as you just get on with the job and don't get involved in the "politics". Can be very "clicky". Management do their best to help

General warehouse environment
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Tamworth, Staffordshire - 24 August 2023
I have been working here for around 6 months, you need to reach the performance target as a picker, it is quite a physical demanding job, and if you are able to meet the target after 12 weeks of joining, you might be able to signed for a permanent contract by GXO, then you can work for the other role with less physical demanding. Team leaders are ok, just do your work properly and you won’t get any trouble.

Stressful and unorganised. Nice colleagues but poor management
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Derby - 23 August 2023
The job itself I didn’t mind it was the management being so unorganised it made our jobs so much harder. Our job wasn’t too difficult but when you have to find more than 20 boxes out of 100+ pallets that hold 16-15 boxes each it is so hard to get your targets done. If management of the department made sure all boxes were on box finder correctly it would be enjoyable.
Pros
Standard pay
Cons
Management and target requirements

Poor Working Environment
HGV Class 2 Driver (Current Employee) - Garforth, West Yorkshire - 23 August 2023
Class 2 Driver delivering to Costa Outlets, delivery points are a joke or non existent, Equipment is garbage, cages with 3 wheels, bent frames , full of pop and milk that's a nightmare to manoeuvre, Managers are hopeless, Always on there mobiles rather than doing what there paid for, Drivers are ok on the main, you can have a laugh, some of the old sweats are up themselves, and looked after by the Flm's.. lots of favouritism .. Money's good and 3 days off is good but works very hard and made harder by rubbish equipment
Pros
3 days off, good pay
Cons
Long hours, favouritism, heavy work
