Class 1 driver in Warrington

Good first job as class 1 driver
This was my first job as a class 1 driver I was given 2 weeks training and learnt all the skills necessary to do the job in a good time frame. The job was a mix of general haulage work and multidrop in a fast paced environment with a customer facing role. The job is good for learning and gaining experiance for any new pass drivers.

Avoid like Covid
The pay is average pay, the trucks are damaged and don't get repaired even the new ones, the management don't care, overtime is forced and short notice (can finish at 6pm and then get sent out again till about 8pm), and hand-balling a tonne pallet isn't uncommon. No PPE provided for Covid

Fast paced work
Hard work Delivering and collecting customer pallets, Feels like your pushed to complete work. The people are good there but there pushed aswell. Needs to pay more to keep staff.

OK job
It's been a good place to work and friendly but times have changed. You get left to make decisions, and not blamed if it's the wrong choice. It's pretty easy going.

They want too much too soon
H & M have some good staff but they also have lazy staff who get away with too much, but their biggest downfall is they want too much too soon as i learned very quickly, i was employed to run the warehouse with minimal lazy constantly late staff who dont listen and broken unsafe equipment along with the companies part time bosses sons ( good lads but dont really care about warehouse stuff ) was hard enough. Loading 12 artics and 16 rigids plus 2 vans in an hour was obviously not good enough for them they want it done in 30 mins with the same amount of staff hahaha dream on, poor management and aggressive nature dont work in companies these days no one wants to be spoken to with aggression this is something they will learn very quickly, their staff are all looking for jobs elsewhere due to bullying behaviour. Also no breaks can be taken until an hour before finish time and even then the staff get moaned at for going on their break the week before i resigned i went a full week with no break.
