Pay and performance reviews usually happen annually.
Pay reviews are annually.
We get a 3 or a 6 monthly probationary review meeting to begin with. Then there will be a annual pay review. These are conducted by your line manager to see how you have been performing and developing within your role.
I was promised a pay review every six months 😂. There was a review every six months but guess what! Never got a pay rise for the last six years i was there always an excuse. I got pneumonia working for these animals and was reprimanded for having too much time off do not believe anything this sham of a company say all they care about is filling their own pockets. I was there for a long time and helped them do this. I feel ashamed
Never had one but it seemed reviews weren’t only done proactively when it’s was time to sack someone for being a few mins late or whatever feeble excuse they could pick out.
They tell you it’s every 3-6 months but they won’t do anything till you pester them again and again and even then it’s pointless, I heard of many instances where they actively try to avoid giving you pay increases and if you work hard enough to earn a discretionary bonus then they’ll put a stop to that too if you manage to do it for more than a month at a time regardless of how hard you worked for it.
There have even been instances where rather than paying agency fees for agency staff once their probation was up, they’ll try and nitpick and find any reason to sack them so they can save themselves the fee, and just recruit another mug to start the whole process over and to keep the upper hand as they’ll have less rights this way. Don’t get your hopes up.
If they say you are having a review, they mean they have decided to sack you. You have probably told the truth too often, or done the right thing, which is a big no no.
Most people won’t make it to a review, so hard to say! You will be told it will happen in December, but the only thing close to a review that I saw was the constant sacking of staff because the weather had changed.
