8 hours a day
I work on average 7 hours a day, monday to friday
I work 8 hrs a day x 5 a week, I have a 10 minute break mid morning and a 30 minute break at lunchtime. If I work extra I can claim back time off in lieu.
9 hours with 30 min lunch and reasonable allowance for short breaks. Will sometimes be asked to work extra to achieve targets which is unpaid but recognised with gratitude and time off in lieu.
9 hours a day with paid breaks. Overtime available when busy, all give and take.
Too many. Your contract means nothing unless they’re using it against you.
Average seems to be 10 hours a day, but the workshop get the worst end of the stick; they seemed to have compulsory overtime thrust upon them with very little notice and very little tolerance of excuses.
At least 10 hours a day and in the whole time I worked there (approx a year) I can count on one hand the number of times I actually got to leave on time. You’re expected to hang back so the managers can hit their targets and pat themselves on the backs.
Don’t waste your time here.
More than is in your contract.
Whatever hours you do will never be enough for them. They prefer to employ people with no life, so that you have nothing to go home for. That way they can squeeze the hours out of you. Don’t hold your breath to get paid for your overtime though, they will expect you to do it out of goodwill or fear of losing your job.
