Work-life balance

Social Worker in Halton
on 10 February 2021
Busy Social Work team but great management
I worked for Runcorn CIN team for just over a year. The team is very busy which often meant I was behind and struggling with my caseload however the team and management were lovely and I would return to working for Halton if I wished to have a job in LA again

Halton Council will take you on no matter what, they will mess your wages up and they will lie about what hours you'll be doing. Fear not, if you complain management will say you're replaceable. Management were a joke, they constantly ignore calls or emails. They will lie to your face, and bad mouth you behind your back. You don't have to be crazy to work there but it helps.
1) Park Ranger. 2) Road Safety Officer in 1) Runcorn Town Hall & Parks. 2) Halton Lea

Loved working at HBC
I have had two roles within two different departments in HBC and honestly, they are or were at the time a great employer. They offer training, let you work on your own initiative, strong and supportive management, Flexi working. And you felt that as a council they really were striving to support the local community of Halton. Would work with them again in a shot!
Care Assistant in Widnes, Cheshire
on 25 October 2020
I worked in oak meadow for a year and a half, at my interview I was told I could work three longs shifts as I was contracted 37 hours to start to then be told it’s short shift which would not work with child care held it out for a year and a half pled with management for nothing to be done, management changed and still nothing was offered to drop hours and pick a different rota which none of there had and sequencing to them regarding set days in nursery for my daughter. There is meant to be a childcare policy within the council but there was never any help given to me
Driver in Widness Dept.

Fun work
Enjoyed working with special needs people and driving various vehicles and dealing with some clients in wheelchairs. The hourly rate was very low for the responsibilities.
