greeted well by all your colleagues and everyone is friendly. need to input data entry on the system and the system is a bit outdated but very basic. the office is a bit old and could do with a refurbishment.

Physically and mentally adept in providing first class working practice within the warehouse environment. Methodical by nature with a keen eye for detail which leads to reliable stock management and inventory control. Enthusiastic and willing to get involved in every aspect of warehouse management, confident communicator and all round team player.

Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Leicester - 4 January 2018

A typical day at work consists of starting at 8 finishing at 4 and usually finishing the work that has been issued to you, you will often do the same thing everyday. I never really learn anything new as staff levels are low and you are very rarely moved into a different area to learn new skills. Management is fair they only get on your back if your not doing your job correctly which in my opinion is understandable. The job itself is very repetitive and you are very rarely given the chance to change your position which means your not really given a chance to get a pay rise. The hardest part of the job is having to deal with the companies mistakes nothing really runs smoothly and there is a lot we have to deal with on the shop floor. I enjoy the hours and it is a very friendly place to work, I've never had an issue working at Hammonds the only thing I struggle with is the lack of incentive, it's hard to get motivated when there is no development plan, people should be able to progress within a company, however chances like that are few and far between at Hammonds furniture.

Pros

get weekends free, overtime available if you want it, sociable hours, friendly atmosphere.

Cons

low wage, not much opportunity for growth, repetitive work.

rewarding and hardworking

hammonds was a good place to work everybody got on well with each other and had a laugh as long as the work got finished on time and to standards. management really appreciated all the hard work that was done and gave you bonuses. the most difficult part of the job was making sure all machines were running how they should be and maintain them as often as you were supposed to. it was enjoyable having a bit of competitiveness to see who could get the most work done
