Job isn’t as described in interview
Sales Advisor (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 6 August 2020
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedHammonds seams to be a good company to work for however the job it’s self is far too quiet, the targets are impossible because you may only speak to 2-3 people in a day.
Hammonds expect you to ring customers who have previously been into the store and entered completions to see if they would like to book an appointment,to me this is pushy Sales and not something I would ever be comfortable with doing.
Pros
Nice working environment
Cons
Pushy Sales

Slow and boring
Sales Advisor (Current Employee) - Norwich - 21 November 2019
To work for Hammonds you have to be used to a very slow day, maybe only seeing 2 or 3 customers. It would suit someone who is retired and doesn't want to do too much. You do have target aim for which at busy times of year like the January Sale are easy, but not so easy to achieve during the run up to Christmas.

Not good
Sales Advisor (Former Employee) - North East - 4 October 2018
Not a great place to work. On your own all the time and it was aways quite. Other stores that were double manned always signed each in and out and even did it for full says which was definitely not on.
Pros
No late nights
Cons
Very quite and boring always on your own

challenging
sales advisor (Former Employee) - North England - 3 September 2014
Can be very challenging to work here as being based in a concession means your limited to space to work in. Expected to work independently more or less from the start with very little motivation and training. Management find it hard to understand it's hard to convince clients to give personal details such as phone numbers. Almost impossible targets depending on the season.
Pros
commission and fair breaks
Cons
expected to work 6/7 or more days with limited say, poor management, contracts can be terminated with little/no.warning
