Great management
Waitress/Bar Staff (Former Employee) - Dudley - 28 November 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe way your hired is based on a work trial which is good because managers and staff can see what your capable of and how you cope in that environment. Unfortunately for me I just couldn't cope with the abuse you get from actual customers and not getting along with a few members of staff. If your fave doesn't fit it can become a problem so if you like to lick backsides then it's the job for you. If your quiet and tend to keep yourself to yourself other members of staff will try and cause you issue's. Some staff think they run the place and think they can intrud in your job and don't like it if you've been given more hours or a shift they would prefer. This is a management problem not a staff problem. I often on a Daily basis had ro check my work schedule as it would be changed daily! You could be working 4 hours one week too 38 the next so you have to put your foot down from day one and even if you have a good enough reason they will expect you to work a shift or day you told them in an interview you couldn't do. You need a thick skin to put up with the level of abuse from customers especially if your front of house because they take out all of their complaints out on waitresses. Even down to food time preparations, lack of food available to waiting times to how it's cooked and presented the waitress on minimum wage gets the stick.
Pros
Great staff discounts and perks
Cons
Constant change in schedule

Not good
Wait Staff (Current Employee) - Rugby - 29 November 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The comrade among the front of house staff. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Lack of professionalism and competence among the management. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Toxic among the management, however the rest of the staff are wonderful and helpful members of the team. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Stressful, difficult and just unpleasant

Don’t waste your time working here
Bar Staff (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 20 November 2023
The place has gone downhill, in my time being here I’ve witnessed over 17 staff leave. Management just sit in the office all day and expect you to do their work on the floor for them but won’t pay you the wage. Always short staffed so be prepared to work a busy Saturday night on your own.

Fun, rewarding but exhausting!
General Manager (Current Employee) - Crawley, West Sussex - 9 November 2023
It's a tough job, but can be a lot of fun. However, once you've worked for 1 chain you've worked for them all. Expect the world from you and pay you peanuts! Luckily the team are lovely, so make it bare-able!

Terrible
bar staff (Former Employee) - West Byfleet, Surrey - 6 October 2023
It was an ok job, I failed probation because “ poor attendance record and your failure to Call the business to inform, when you cannot attend work as per company policy.” I told the assistant manager the day before the 2 days before train strikes was happening and said that it’d be fine and he would get back to me about it and never did, so I didn’t think I’d need to phone in about it so naturally I worked my other job since I didn’t need to get a train to it and then on Sunday I got told to come in early the next day, that’s when I got told I failed probation, I also never got a break whilst working 7+ hour shifts and only got one when working a double shift, the staff are lovely and very nice to work with but the managers are stuck up, I told them I work another job on Saturday’s and they still put me on shifts them days so they got mad when I didn’t show up on Saturdays, the discount is terrible, only 33% off and you don’t get free food on shifts either which is why I love my other job
Pros
Nice team members
Cons
Bad pay

Dont bother. Not worth the stress
General manager. (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 5 October 2023
Poor pay, area managers are bullies, liars and have no backbone. Long hours as salary expected to work for free if short staffed. They dont care about you, or any mental health.
Pros
Discount
Cons
Too many to tell you about. Avoid

Better off working at Mcdonalds
Kitchen Chef (Former Employee) - Swindon - 2 October 2023
Terrible management. Long hours, communication between front of hoist and back of house is doesn't exist. They will pile the orders until kitchen is screwed, then management complains that kitchen is slow yet does nothing to fix the issue. Training again, is poor. Staff food isn't free, 50% of staff food. Coffee/tea costs £1 a cup. Machine drinks 50p each. So your expected to work long hours and not compensated with free food/drink, you got to pay.
Pros
Great discounts and interesting pay scheme
Cons
Terrible management
