I worked with a lovely team of people that were always welcoming and we did things like secret Santa and it was great fun when they changed the menu as the staff got to do a taster day of the new food. However it was also very stressful at times you can have very rude customers and sometimes when the managers are stressed it makes the environment at work not as fun.
Pros
employee discount
Cons
Long hours and stressful
I worked here when I was 18 now being 22, my branch was the literal pits, bottom of the barrel kind of pub with customers being the same. Management was insanely bad because he didn't care about his job or employee's - thankfully got sacked. Health and saftey in the whole building was atrocious, everything was filthy, old, colleagues were rotten. Its been reburbished now but been told the atomosphere of work hasn't changed. I quit after a month, and only worked there 2 days a week. Rip to anyone who goes to this branch, I wish you good luck!
I loved working with a lovely team of people. Loved helping people & talking to customers. Doing nite & day stock taking & always making sure stock was out & in date
I really enjoyed being a part of the team
I would open and close the bar, and also do shifts waitressing. The staff really do work in a great team and all of the shifts i worked there were busy.
I enjoyed working at the harvester, esp working with the staff, they were welcoming and friendly. We all had a good relationship while working in the harvester
Pros
discounts
Cons
hardly any hours at times

Is Indeed your favorite place to learn about companies?
if you have no life outside of work then this is for you, the tips are great but that's about all. as in every job you make it what it is but you will have to learn to live with out sleep from all the hours you have to do
The balance between work and social life isn't great, rota's are done in advanced but are 90% likely to change meaning your plans don't always go as expected.
There are lots of good days, that make you feel like you are making a difference but then there are those days that make you question whether or not you need the job.
For some people it's a great job, it always helps when you have a good team of people around you, but tensions can run high like any job.
Pros
33% staff discount in M&B Brands, Tips are good.
Cons
Not a great balance between work and social life.
Worked at The Hawth Park Inn Crawley for a few months and it was the worst few months of my life. Constantly got messed around with my hours and pay. They do actually owe me money still. Managers are disgusting horrible people that put you down and made more than one member of staff cry at work
Cons
Working there
each day was different, working in a different section and with different people. developing new skills each day and improving on skills. communications is key
Did not enjoy working with in the company hours are long and sometimes shifts get cancelled after an hour of working if it's not busy shift and winter is dead time not a lot of hours or shifts physical and mentally demanding job
Pros
Working as a team
Cons
Long hours little pay
excellent staff great managers always made working there fun. wonderful atmoshshere great family vibe would most definetly work there again. great management.
- My typical day at work was serving guests and cleaning behind the bar.
- I learned how pour drinks behind the bar.
- I didn't get along with the managers
- The hardest part of my job was the angry guests and sometimes when I had messed up, I would feel a bit embarrassed.
- The most enjoyable part of my job was the conversations I would have with the guests.
Pros
Conversations with guests
Cons
Long hours
When I was working with Harvester George Stephenson I enjoyed working with the customers and the work members. The most enjoyable aspect of the job was when the customers was satisfied with the service they received. A normal working day would be you have you're own section because I worked front of house and then you handled that section such as cleaning tables, serving customers, taking orders and handling money.
Pros
Enviroment, Company
Used this as an opportunity to build on my people skills. Pay wasn't great and long hours. Didn't feel like they cared about their employees. Wouldn't choose this as a career.
