Indeed featured review

The people there are super lovely but you have to keep checking the time the "system" clocks you out because it takes overtime off you then you have to chase it up with a few people before it gets sorted out. You also have 20 minutes of pay taken off you after 6 hours because its a "break" but hey Dont give you the break and justify the 20 minutes being taken because they "offer you free coffee and the time you spend making coffee throughout the shift adds up to more that 20 minutes" which is complete nonsense. The chance to progress or try new things within the company is also a bit difficult.

Pros

The people you work with

Cons

Overtime pay being taken off you

Long days little reward

Expected to work long days, this includes from 7am - 10:30pm with 1 hour break. Pay is mediocre for the amount of work you need to do. Always short staffed and rota’s aren’t planned well. For the good part, the team are fairly nice to work with, good moral, polite and helpful (mostly) - just tough when faced with busy periods. Some share of the FOH tips, although, this isn’t a lot.

Pros

Flexibility with booking time off, share of tips, good staff moral, availability of hours (if you’re willing to do long days)

Cons

Very long hours on your feet, not enough time to do required cleaning

Stressful

Had to pay for your own food while being on a low wage as it is, wage isn’t good for living on. Management isn’t the best and needs working on, not very much communication going around also with the manager.

Pros

Finishing your shift

Cons

Low wage & long hours

Underpaid and overworked

Our team is good at our location, however progression is really slow. Ive been informed that I would be put forwars for progression several times but I have not achived the position. I applied for a job role and was put on a pay grade lower than the position applied for. I was informed it would only be for 13 weeks, during my induction. All the while I was expected to complete tasks of a position above the role I applied for. I was wventually stepped up after 26 weeks, however I still completemost of the the AM role whilst being paid for Supervisor.

Pros

Teamwork

Cons

Long hours, poor work life balance, low pay, overworked

Good

Good, good company to work for. Good pay, would not go back as the high volume of work I was undergoing I was going 80hour weeks with no help or no pay rise

productive place to work with strict targets to meet

decent employer, good employees to work with and a very good focus on training and development. The main focus is on what the running costs and safety within the business. mainly long hours working as a chef.

Great management

You get 33% off all Mitchel and butler brands. You get paid a pretty decent wage could be more, but you can cover a shift or two to top up your pay pack.

Run by people who do not look after longterm staff

If you like lots money in summer great. Winter you will go from 48 down to 15 hours. Managers do not look after staff all about money. Too much course work

Yes

Its decent if you're in uni/college/ working parent shifts are flexible but I was doing the job of an assistant manager and getting paid as a team leader, with only increase being a salaried job that's not worth it.

Random hours, high workload and very low pay. Great people.

Working here is hectic to say the least. You aren't just waiting, you're a waiter, doorman, cleaner etc. The hours are, in my case absolutely random. Hours could be 20 a week to 8 in one month, with absolutely random cuts and horrible communication about hours. The pay is low.

Typical franchise restaurant job

Nice customers, friendly staff if you avoid the drama. Rota was often unfair with hours e.g. sometimes only having a days notice of the coming week rota, finishing late and starting early next day. Tips could be very good.

Pros

free salad

Cons

unsociable hours

Was a good place to work, learnt alot about myself and the culture around dining. hours where one drawback but thats standard. Team work is absolutely 100% key to work efficiently in an environment like that.
