Toxic work place environment

Worked as detailer. Management have no interest in improving your workplace also speak down to everyone who is not making them money ie technicians, valeters, body shop workers. Awful workplace environment would not recommend at all

Not the best
Workshop Controller (Former Employee) - Liverpool - 15 April 2023
Joined at a time of transition. Management wanted to continue the same path, a path that had them bottom of all KPI's. Teamed up with a manager I knew professionally and began to turn the place around slowly, but because it wasn't 'their' way or 'fast enough' it quickly became toxic. Meetings became personal attacks and everyone was a target.

Unfair ethics and bad management
Sales (Former Employee) - Shrewsbury, Shropshire - 30 January 2023
Bad management and unmotivated staff make this an awful place to work. Don't do it, find another job. There is a reason, why they are constantly hiring.

Great place to work.
Sales Manager (Former Employee) - Pickering - 2 November 2022
Great family run business. Genuine caring team of people. Lots of nice annual extras for example hamper at Christmas and your birthday off work. Great brands to work with.

Awful
Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Kingston upon Hull - 10 October 2022
Low wage, too many hours, lied to by higher ups. Not supported. Poor organisation. Next to no help when things aren’t great (which is all the time…..)

Be Warned
Aftersales Manager (Former Employee) - Liverpool - 8 September 2022
I've never walked out of a job until working for Hatfield's, after having 15 years in a steady successful role moving here was a massive mistake, an appalling culture nurtured by the owners/directors & higher management, like working for a loan shark, only interested in money, seemed to hate the staff, no opportunity to develop a healthy culture as that slows the money down, the saying was, they will be happy when staff are crawling out of the door each night sick from work, absolutely unreal, and the products are exceptionally unreliable which adds to the staff stress and anxieties, more important to get a healthy culture but blocked at every turn

Nice place and decent people, varied jobs and I got on with most
Overall enjoyed my time there just a low wage which forced me elsewhere. Genuinely miss being on the road delivering cars to customers but on the downside could be longer hours than normal.

Fantastic
Sales Executive (Former Employee) - Wakefield - 9 February 2021
I worked for Hatfield’s Jaguar in Wakefield as a sales executive. The commission scheme is incredible. They pay better than anyone else in the motor trade. Totally possible to earn £70k a year here. There are guys at Land Rover dealers within group pulling in £100k. Company cars are run on ecos so you dont pay company car tax, my E-Pace was £170pm. 1 in 3 weekends off and then one day off in the week. The most well put together and well run business I have ever been in. Everything ran like clockwork. This is the highest performing dealership in the UK and for a reason. You are expected to perform at all times and often the pressure can be quite high but it is worth it. Hugely focused on high standards and customer service, the preparation team do an incredible job of the used cars. Once you sell a car, you put all the details on a google sheets ‘delivery sheet.’ You then can trust the car will be absolutely perfect on the day of handover and don’t need to chase. Everyone here is at the top of their game and does an amazing job. Do not hesitate to work here.
Pros
Everything
Cons
Typical motor trade cons, nothing related to the dealership.

Liars money grabbing robber's
Valeter/Driver (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 17 March 2020
The management will do anything in their power to keep there money high if that means taking stuff away from the least paid, they degrade the under paid over worked hearts of the business to line there own pockets. Not just the staff get robbed speaking from experience they purposely steal from the customers telling them that the car is not ready so they can charge an extra hour labour. Discussing

Great Place to work
Used Car Sales Manager (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 17 February 2020
This company still has the family feel. you are known by name, not just in passing. The pressure is there, where isn't it? But it is worth it. Part of a great team.

On Edge
Advisor (Former Employee) - Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire - 13 February 2020
A culture of favourites and people they don't care about. 'Family run business' certainly doesn't mean they treat you like family. High turnover of staff so never a settled environment.

Toxic
Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Liverpool, Merseyside - 12 October 2019
Absolutely awful retention of staff, management are bullies and do not care about their staff or customers, embarrassed to have worked for them at all (I was begging for my old job back within a week of working there). All staff are at each others throats. Toxic environment, full of narcissists.
