Used to be great.
Care Coordinator (Former Employee) - Kent - 24 November 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedSenior management teams have no care experience and therefore do not understand the role of the CC’s BCMs. HH used to be a great, family run, caring business to work for. Now it’s all about delivered hours & profit with no regard to the quality of care provided to the customers or carers.

Just ok
Carer (Former Employee) - Maldon, Essex - 7 November 2023
It was okay. People that I looked after were nice. Managers didn't always keep us updated with everything, but nothing terrible happened. It's just like every other care company.

Very uncomfortable work environment
Care Assistant (Current Employee) - United Kingdom - 23 October 2023
Under appreciated and given minimal hours. Expected to be available all day but only given one hour long shifts. Shifts are given last minute yet you are shamed for cancelling a shift even if it’s in advance. The scheduling of the work is a mess!

Absolutely do not apply
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Doncaster, South Yorkshire - 14 October 2023
Worst care company I've worked for. Management is horrible and rude, put ridiculous hours onto you without seeing if you're able to work them beforehand, won't approve already booked holidays, can be out the house for 16hours and only paid for 8

A good company to work for short - term
Community Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Wilmslow - 12 October 2023
In comparison to many other care companies, I suppose that this company is better than most. Despite this, you can spend several hours a day driving between calls and waiting around for the next call. E.g. your day can begin at 7am and finish at 10pm, but you may only have 3 calls throughout that time, so are only being paid for the time you’re actually at a caring call. I found that I had several hours between calls and calls were often close to one another, meaning that you can only claim mileage from one call to another, so you end up losing money going home instead of waiting around for hours on end for the next call to start. Long hours but pay does not reflect this. Mileage paid between calls but not first or last - they usually send you to the furthest first and last, meaning you cannot claim mileage for the journey to & from these calls
Pros
Pay is better than others in this sector.
Cons
Long hours and pay does not reflect this

Care Assistant (Current Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 3 October 2023
Amazing company. All the carers and office staff are very friendly and polite. They all make you feel really welcome and part of the team. There is good communication between everyone. The best company I have worked for.

Carer (Current Employee) - Truro, Cornwall - 29 September 2023
It's was ok been at the company for years, but feel more like a number and under valued as a member of the team, due to being unable to progress even though I was told after the interview I have great knowledge.

Excellent company
Carer (Current Employee) - Swindon, Wiltshire - 15 September 2023
Excellent person centred care given to all customers. This company also treats their staff very well, working with you and your personal commitments. Plenty of communication. Just, excellent.

Has become extremely toxic..
Office Staff (Current Employee) - Alcester - 5 September 2023
This was such a nice place to work when I first started. Now it's all just secrecy and changes. Staff being made redundant left, right and center to cut corners and save money. There has been little to no regard of how this effects people. The person centered aspect of this company has totally gone out the window. It's very sad...

Carer (Former Employee) - Basingstoke, Hampshire - 24 July 2023
When I first started I loved the branch but it came to light that they do no care at all, poor communication, no support and just horrible behaviour from management team all favouritism

Good if your face fits
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Stourbridge, West Midlands - 27 June 2023
Hours and work load was ok when you kept saying yes to extra hours until you day no they find petty ways to get you into the office for a telling off when you haven't done anything, expected to drop everything at minutes notice even if you have a family the office is so clicky and if your face don't fit that's it. Management are power crazy they can go off work and out the office whenever they want and talk your personal business at the office infront of carers only good thing is the training is intense and thorough
