Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Various - 17 September 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? There is no best part, a lot of pressure to work outside your availability What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Pressure to drop everything on days off to do extra work What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Unsatisfactory didn't feel like there was any support What is a typical day like for you at the company? Either very busy or hardly any calls

Got offered a job here after another company closed and within 4 weeks had to leave as little hours were offered. Would not apply to this company again

Really supportive Team
Care Assistant (Current Employee) - Monmouth, Monmouthshire - 31 May 2023
Love working hear and feel we are helping our customers. Hours offered are what I asked for and although there is extra work available, there is no pressure to do.

Helping Hands live in carer.
Live-in Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Clients residence. - 19 May 2023
Throughout my time working for Helping Hands I would say it was a good work life balance. The pay was okay. There were other care companies out there that offered alot more which, when I realised I moved companies.
Pros
Good work life balance.
Cons
Not enough support from management. There are care companies that offer more money.

Terrible place to work
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Tyne and Wear - 18 February 2023
Awful place to work would not recommend. Very long hours with no breaks. Forced to do work you don’t want to. Management is awful, travel miles and miles.
Pros
Relationships with customers
Cons
Long hours, no breaks, forced to do extra hours and poor management

Great workplace
Care and support worker (Current Employee) - Barnsley - 18 December 2022
Good company, care about custo.ers aswell as staff. Not hounded like other care company's on your day off to pick up extra work. Travel time on the whole is sufficient. Good pay.

Average
Carer Assistant (Former Employee) - Nantwich, Cheshire - 12 December 2022
On starting work at the Nantwich branch i had a fantastic manager and trainer, work/life balance was brilliant then after 1yr things nose dived, working 18hr days and every weekend, not getting proper time off and rest days as was advertised as working alternate weekends Then managers changed and was made to feel like my face didn’t fit in You’re overworked and underpaid and the pence per mile isn’t worth the paper it’s written on Don’t apply for a job here
Pros
None
Cons
Pence per mile petrol isn’t worth it

Relaxed
Mobile care assistant (Former Employee) - West Midlands - 7 May 2022
Was a great job just felt the fact it was a zero hour contract they could give me as little hours as they wanted The clients I helped were amazing its a very rewarding job just not knowing how many hours you would be getting from one week to the next was the main reason for me leaving otherwise I may have stayed with the company. Also being given a client at say 11am to then only have one more client at 5pm and only getting paid the time you are with client but can't have a good social life balance knowing your got to travel again in a couple of hours. And it worked out for me in this instance that the two calls I did at 11am and 5pm didn't even cover the cost of fuel to get there and back home as they were 30 minute calls.
Pros
Meeting new people. Helping others. Feeling you've accomplished something.
Cons
Long hour breaks between clients at times, Long days, Not given what hours you'll be working until a few days before the week starts

A humanitarian role!!
Carer (Former Employee) - West Berkshire, Berkshire - 6 March 2022
PAY: I had a 32 hour contract @ £11:50 per hour. Helping Hands don’t pay for travelling time, waiting time between calls, break time or if a call runs over. I worked 3 long days (7am - 10pm) & therefore on duty for 15 hours each day but only paid on average 11 hours per day. This means my ACTUAL hourly rate was £8:43 per hour ROLE: VERY fast paced, which can be physically exhausting & stressful.

Chaos
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) - Remote - 17 February 2022
No strategy no leadership lots of knives out and you will fail at every thing you attempt to achieve and become exhausted by the noise and chaos and jumping up to do as you are told going from one thing to another at the drop of a hat and ending up with huge number of tasks to do and no time to complete
