HGV Class 2 Driver (Former Employee) - Warrington, Cheshire - 17 July 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedNot the worst job, money wasn't the greatest when i was there, work fairly straight forward and shifts were around 8/10hours. Sometimes you could struggle to get 40hours a week.

Just a number!
HGV Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) - Warrington, Cheshire - 1 February 2023
When I first started I quite enjoyed the role. However due to poor management that enjoyment was soon stripped away. It became apparent that drivers were treated with utter contempt and that we were all utterly disposable. This included people that had been there a number of yrs. Avoid like the plague!!
Pros

Cons
Treated like dirt. Poor management.

Bad company
HGV Driver class 2 (Former Employee) - Dundee - 21 December 2022
Working for this company was a bad idea I would strongly recommend staying away from them. No organisation more manager/ supervisor than actual worker. no one knows what is happening.left hand don't communicate with right hand. Conflicting instructions with senior personnel. Best avoided if possible.

Stay away! Horrendous
HGV Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) - Normanton - 30 November 2022
Transport office (if you can call it that) really have no idea what they’re doing and have very poor knowledge of driving hours and WTD, basically young lads chucked into an office from a warehouse environment with little training just to fill a void. I have 20 years of HGV driving experience and this is by far the worst employer I have ever worked for. Overtime is paid incorrectly if paid at all, vehicles are not well maintained and the cabs are always filthy and unhygienic. My advice would be to stay well clear.
Pros
Was local to where I live
Cons
Management, poor vehicle cleanliness and incorrect wages every pay day

HGV Driver (Former Employee) - Swindon - 18 November 2022
Night shifts for good money, everyone is nice and helpful, but you have loading your truck by yourself forklift driver will help you if you’ve got 15 minutes to leave warehouse

Bad place to work
Lorry Driver Class 1 (Former Employee) - Warrington - 22 October 2022
There is bad management, if you have a problem during the job they don’t answer the phone , the units are new but they are untidy and sometimes unsafe.

Undervalued by upper management
HGV Driver class 2 (Former Employee) - Newmarket - 14 October 2022
Culture of lies to get people on board and no support from any managers when they mess up, costing you money. They take no care with customers packages. Encourage drivers to lie to sub depots about why they don’t get their stuff on time. When the managers mess up they expect drivers to handball masses of parcels into small vans and deliver to subs at the end of their shift. Happened to me several times.

Class 2 Driver
HGV Class 2 Driver (Former Employee) - Boldon Colliery - 30 June 2022
Trucks are old and knackered, but you can smoke in the cab which is a bonus. It's a driving job, could be worse, could be better. Overall it's decent, albeit the supervisors are questionable.

Okay place to work
HGV Class 2 Driver (Current Employee) - Bridgend - 15 May 2022
Start time for night drivers won't suit everyone common 00:00 start times. Vehicles range from old to new. As most places management and organisation are lacking. Good place to get experience if you a new HGV Class 2 driver.
Pros
Unsure
Cons
Start time, Management

Easiest lorry driving job
HGV Class 1 Driver (Current Employee) - Dundee, Dundee City - 4 May 2022
It’s an easy job but the drivers aren’t paid very well. Mostly all the runs are up north. Most artics are unloaded with a forklift and unload yourself if using a rigid with a tail-lift. Lots of waiting around for empty pallets and returns.
Pros
Easy work
Cons
Low pay

If you can’t find anything else
HGV Class 1 Driver nights (Former Employee) - Brooklands - 19 April 2022
A really weird place To secured a good place it’s not what you know , but who you know . You could be the biggest drip ever but if you knew someone up the chain your safe . Even if you can’t do the job. Night wave always on to get the trucks out and load them as quickly to get more runs out of you 24 pallets on 24 off . The units are a very poor show held together with tape and only fit for the scrap yard . Mangers and supervisor are a joke . Allways on your back no people skills as all Hermes reviews state . But nothing gets done . It’s ok to change the name but still the same underneath. Like moving the deck chairs on the titanic it still sunk . It needs a very big shake up to get everyone singing from the same page .
Pros
Free water at the tap
Cons
To many to mention
