Head Teacher in Hertfordshire

Education team too small.
Okay place to work but ultimately too few people so don’t really know schools. Then knee jerk reactions and snap decisions that are unnecessary. Need to trust staff more.

Terrible toxic place , bullied, and prejudiced , no value for staff management so bad
V. poor decision making on staff health, management utterly incompetent doing looking after staff doing their jobs .High turnover of staff due to toxic culture. Corruption, bullying. Health guidelines not respected. HR only supported management and the service so the service needs are met first . I could go on and on .Making a difference to families is nice . I would not recommend working for this council at all.

doesn't quite meet our quality guidelines.
No leadership. No chain of command. I felt isolated, not enough work, lack of management. Corruption. Covid guidelines not respected. Complete disregard in terms of communication to staff.

Typical local authority
It should have been a brilliant job, my colleagues were friendly and inspiring but the managers thought that your salary was your purchase price. There was a lot of harassment and intimidation and HR could be relied on to protect the business
Class Teacher in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire

Stressful, no breaks, high accountability
I have been teaching in Hertfordshire schools for many years. The training opportunities have decreased and the salary is low because schools have no money, yet the workload continues to increase. We do not get our breaks and are even asked to clean after teaching all day. Even when sick we have to upload lesson plans and mark work when better. There is no support and lots of criticism from school leadership. I would not recommend this employer.
