The work at HFH was great, l thought. I found that if you are confident and finally get a client that likes you and you also get along with them, t0he job could be worth while. The money was good
hardest part was when patient is in stress and calm them down is the only one hardest part of the job. But i worked hard and got very good experience and also explored lot skills .
Lack of support from care coordinators or any staff in the office. They don't care about their carers ,they only want the job done and money from the clients. Whenever I sent an email or left message with someone to call me back , I either had to wait for days/week for a reply but most times there was no reply or call back NEVER!!!! THEY are only contact their clients because they know their money comes from them. Poor management and lack of support. Please avoid this organisation, they are the worst.
Good amount of choice when selecting new clients to work with, most are within 45mins travel. I used to work in domcare and had to travel a lot between clients, that I was not paid for! The shifts with HFH are full day or night shifts with no travel other than at the start and end of your shift, so what you actually bank at the end of the month is much higher than domcare!
No progression, high office staff turn over (over 35+ office staff left in the time I was there). You feel a lot of pressure with zero support and have to figure it out on your own. However, should anything not go to plan it’s COMPLETELY your fault. Even if you can prove that you escalated the situation on time, it falls on deaf ears. The only time there was any sign of progression was when they introduced a senior care co role as a way to stop people from leaving. Two people were promoted for the role and STILL left the company. You come in early, stay late just to get on top of the workload and you rarely can. It is so difficult and stressful to cover shifts and build a core team because the pay rates are so low/or the client is too challenging for a carer. The cost of living is high and the risk of working with (some of) these complex (challenging) clients is also high so to pay people low wages is reflective on how out of touch this company is. So unkind, uncaring and unappreciative. All they care about is profit.

Interview was more like a chat and well done you can now be booked into UNPAID training. Then to turn round after you've spent a fortune getting to training and have the offer taken back.
Very silly question you can see they many times don’t even know what they are asking for.
You don't have the chance to ask. If you pass the interview they'll make you go through 4 full days of unpaid training
