Your sick pay goes up dependent on your length of service and can go up to a maximum of 13 weeks full pay and 13 weeks half pay. Change shift patterns see staff are having 2 days of every week not 1 day of one week then 3 days of the next week or ask staff what they would like and try be flexible. Consider charging shift hours as staff work till 10pm then do an handover so don't leave till 10 30pm then are expected back in work the next day at 7am! Pay staff extra to come in half an hour early for a handover see staff are always leaving on time at end of there shift. Check up on the management more just because their mangers doesn't mean their perfect.

Check that management are treating staff right. Do a surprise vist to homes in office hours so you can see the working relationship between management and staff. Let you staff know who and how to make a complaint to about management or other staff with out it effecting the staff members job.

Understand the balance between a high level customer service and cost-effectiveness as a not-for-profit organisation. Develop some understanding of the affordable/social housing sector or the supported housing sector (as appropriate)
