Prison Officer in Hatfield
Cant believe anybody
Job on it's own is not bad. Slightly different ideas of how to do the job from management and from people working around you. Best advice would be: do just your job, what are you train for. Anything you do on top is suspicious...

Difficult but rewarding
A secure rewarding career, with good pension benefits, good annual holiday entitlement, good salary to support a mortgage, challenging environment, but rewarding if you can handle it. Plenty of promotion opportunity. Great workmates.

Horrible place to work
Poorly managed and long hours people in charge that was the same as me didn’t feel safe people didn’t turn in to shift start times was earlier then stated
Your a number not a valued assett
Management are very poor and severly lack interpersonal skills, sometimes they border bullying behaviour. The job is stressful as you might imagine but little support is offered and the training isn't fit for purpose. You can get on but it's very much an organisation of cliques, your face has to fit.

Good place to work.
Great long term job security. If you lie team work ad comradery then this is the job for you. You can also play a great part in the rehablitation of offenders, back to a normal life. Great job satisfaction.
