I would never work for the prison service again , it is so corrupt, I was at Warren hill and they care more for prisoners more than staff , you have a younger staff group and they throw you under the bus with anything , stay well clear

Awful place to work

The company is more corrupt than the service users, absolutely shocking and no help and support from management promotions are stupid and only get a promotion if your in a relationship with a higher “band than yourself” the whole system is corrupt

Low pay for a dangerous job

Used to be a fantastic job and a very well paid, good pension. Unfortunately the new way HMPPS screed candidates means anyone can have a crack at being a prison officer, even if you don't have any qualities of an officer.Basically, you can fail all the attributes of an officer, but providing you pass your maths and English you can have another shot at the assessment day. Absolutely backwards.
