#Youcancare
Whether you have worked in care for several years or want to try something new, we have CAREGiving vacancies that will give you job satisfaction like no other.
Everyday our CAREGivers make a world of difference to the lives of elderly people. The needs of our clients vary hugely, so there is a vast range of roles and responsibilities amongst our team of CAREGivers. Whether you’re helping clients get dressed or taking them to a coffee morning, it’s incredibly rewarding knowing that you’re giving the care and companionship crucial to somebody’s wellbeing.
Who can care?
We prize a warm heart over previous experience. All you need is a desire to make a difference, and we will train you to deliver the exceptional care we’re known for.
Our CAREGivers join us from a range of sectors, including industries that many wouldn’t associate with care. Often it’s only when they get started that they realise that they have already built a skillset that gives them a head-start in a care role.

Our CEO, Martin
As CEO of Home Instead UK, Martin Jones is responsible for leading the entire UK operation. When his father become seriously ill, Martin experienced first-hand the varied and sometimes poor levels of care in the UK. Martin wanted to join an environment where he could help to make a difference to the lives of other older people and their families and came to Home Instead in September 2011.
Martin’s role is to continue the development of the brand in the UK, helping establish Home Instead as the UK's most admired care company and as an employer of choice within the sector. Alongside his passion to support families to enable their loved ones to live independently at home he is dedicated to providing job opportunities that are fulfilling and make best use of peoples' skills and experience. He is an active member of Business in the Community's Age at Work leadership team, championing the role of older workers.
Martin’s non-executive and Trustee roles include: Member of the UKHCA board; Chair of The Silver Line charity; member of the Age UK Board; Trustee of TSA, the voice of technology enabled care and Trustee of The Care Workers Charity. He is also Chair of Home Instead Charities UK, part of Home Instead’s global charitable endeavours.
Live-in care
Some of our clients need more support than hourly care provides; this is where our live-in CAREGivers step in.
Live-in CAREGivers reside in the home of their client and become trusted companions, providing care for practical needs such as housework, cooking and personal care, but also a source of comfort and friendship throughout the day.
As a live-in CAREGiver you will provide care for a set number of hours per day, and be able to sleep, rest and enjoy regular activities outside of these hours.
Previous care experience is required; however all live-in CAREGivers will receive our award winning training, with some additional topics such as basic life support and lone working. Our training and support allows live-in CAREGivers to feel fully confident and comfortable in providing high quality care to their client.
Having a constant familiar face makes a huge difference to our clients. That’s why being a live-in CAREGiver is so rewarding!
To us, its personal
Our motto is ‘To us its Personal’ and we live up to this statement every day.
We provide relationship-led care. Our CAREGivers are matched to clients based on personality, interests and hobbies, and will consistently see the same clients each time, allowing for genuine friendships and connections to form.
In addition to careful client matching, all visits are a MINIMUM of one hour long, so there is plenty of time to provide high quality care and spend time with the client.
When you join the Home Instead family you have the best of both worlds - all the benefits of small, community based business, but backed with over 25 years of global expertise in providing exceptional home care.
Award winning training
We welcome CAREGivers from all backgrounds and walks of life. No previous care experience is necessary to join Home Instead; we welcome people for their values, enthusiasm, empathy and warm hearts.
Our CAREGivers receive industry leading, award winning training to give them the confidence, knowledge and skills to care for our clients. Fully paid training ranges from basic moving and handling, right through to our City & Guilds assured Dementia and End of Life training, and City & Guilds preferred provider Parkinsons courses. We have additional opportunities to gain industry recognised qualifications such as Level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care, and more!
As a CAREGiver at Home Instead you will be completely supported through a program of bespoke training and ongoing education, with opportunities to gain specialist knowledge, helping you to progress your career.
Our training does not stop with our CAREGivers! We also hold free community dementia workshops across the UK for anyone, take part in a multitude of community schemes such as fraud protection for the elderly, and publish advice and support articles on various subjects around ageing, fluids and nutrition, safety and wellness.
Giving back
Home Instead Charities bring happiness and joy to the lives of our ageing population, through improving and maintaining mental well-being and addressing loneliness and isolation.
Established in 2016, Home Instead Charities have now raised over £100,000, funding community programmes that support well-being or reduce and/or prevent isolation and loneliness. Our grants have supported virtual community activities and care packages throughout lockdown, and group activities and days out before this, helping over 20,000 ageing adults in the UK.
Our aim is to keep ageing adults happy, healthy and connected to their communities.
We currently receive far more grant applications than we are able to award and so we have recently partnered with Home Instead USA and Canada to increase our efforts and capacity. If you would like to learn more, donate or get involved, please visit https://www.homeinstead.co.uk/charities/
