since this dangerous covid19 spread to whole country Homeserve has been updating us on every evening and I m an engineer and with High Risk group illness, Homeserve they have asked me stay at home for three months to be safe, my words are not enough to describe how please I am , I have never worked for a company who cares that much about health and safety , I remember working for a company and asked for first aid kit and answer was i had to pay for it myself.
Made you do a lot of the pay and the time you was given literally working away. Only colleagues made it good and specific managersKept adding more to job description but no sign of pay going up. Constantly busy with 300-400 calls in queue. System going down always One point for 3 days 1300 calls in queue just constantly on calls non stop working like a robot and normal breaks just beyond what a human can take mentally and physically. Management still just was concerned with targets and kpi though. Did show abit of appreciation but could have put the pay up as it was always busy and a lot to do and in the job description. Calls were getting more crazy as needed to do fix for boilers over the phone and then they was testing out another thing were we do everything on 1 call more or less (first time fix) but no sign of pay going up again but wanted that all in a 15 min call preferably.
Colleagues and specific managers been good
Have a scheme called forced overtime. So you have to do overtime if you don't want it. Supervisors are good but higher up management are bell nds.If you have family don't work here as they don't care about them and wages are shocking for what you do its plumbing on shift pattern. Everybody started same time as me has left.
Rubbish hours. higher up management. Too many weekends
I worked here for 4 years and was made redundant 3 times! There’s no job progression, even if you do manage to progress you will soon be knocked back down to the beginning, there’s no support from management if you need help, given jobs to do that you haven’t been trained for and then punished when unable to complete and if they want rid of you they will find a way trust me! It’s gone downhill massively since I first joined and it’s a breeding ground for bullying from above you! I loved my job which is a shame but the relief from knowing I no longer have to work there is unbelievable, the amount of people who just disappear in the middle of their shift is very worrying as you know they haven’t left or their own back and you are constantly under threat of redundancy no matter how much you are told you’re safe! The best part of the job was the perks, you get to join people serve which gives you discounts on a whole range of shops and also get £1000 to spend on smart tech with curry’s that then comes off your wage each month for the next 12 months, as I say that’s the best part of the job but certainly doesn’t make it worth it
Discounts & smart tech money
Bullying, no progression and constant redundancies that are kept hush hush
Managers with no experience with in the trade expected work every shift they throw at you also complete lack or respect for employees health or welfare in all honesty the worst company I have ever worked for if your unlucky enough to work in east anglia that was
Homeserve treated me well, it was just not the job for me at my age. But they were fair with me. The area I had to cover just got to large for me.They do give training, but experience in boiler installations really is a must.
Long hours, lots of driving
I have been working at homeserve for 2.5 years. Seemed decent at first until later down the line, when management and processes got in the way. Personally, I had a couple of issues at the work place and they never get solved unless you constantly pester head ofs. However, a lot of favouritism in the place.
Decent salary for Nottingham and surrounding areas.
My con is shift work.
We get sent all the time to peoples homes that are not an emergency. Its not safe, its not right.New American boss want money, not safety, we are going backwards. They want to look after the customers I get it, but what bout my family?
Customers are boss which used to be nice
Engineers are third rate treated
Very unorganised company, even with taking into consideration the current situation in the world and the company having to adapt to pandemic restrictions , the company processes, systems, management, training and culture is still in the 1990s, and this really shows whilst working for the company. The expired systems, methods and communications are extremely stressful to work with, given the information, technology and diversity that is present in the world.
Work from home
From the start I was constantly baby sitting my manager. I never got time to develop my own tasks as i was always chasing their work. It transpires that my manager and head of either left or were fired a month after I left. I wouldn't recommend this place. Setup to fail.
Too much to list

when the managers make mistakes they cover it up, they want to look good in front of head office and do not care how they do it, they lie and if your face does not fit they will look at ways to get rid of you
there are none, managers look after themselves
there are none
Great people to work for and to work with, if i hadnt of messed it up for myself i would have stayed for the rest of my life, i enjoyed every single day i was at work and would ask to go in on my days off just to do a job i loved. I left with some lifelong friends
Happy place to work
Long distance driving
Working mainly alone as a drainage Engineer for Homeserve was great, despite lone working there was plenty of support from management and colleagues, great bunch of guys, out of work activities such as a paid trip to greyhound racing etc
No two jobs are the same so challenges plus overtime and bonus scheme daily
Shift rota pattern means weekend/ BHoliday shifts
Personally I can't review this company as it's the worst place i ever worked at. Management are clueless and argumentative. Coaches are all about themselves I am glad I left when I did. I am surprised they are still going. I would never recommend anybody to work here your better off on the dole.
Far to many to mention
Used to be OK but lately kpi targets are all that matter to line managers. Some manager's don't care about you as a person or any stress or problems you may have in your home life ,the results are all that matter.you are judged on driving ,how much your parts spend is and how many boiler referrals you get from customers with old boilers. You cannot fix something with out parts but cost goes against you
Big company who thinks you are just a number
Can honestly say worse company worked for. Got promised the world at interview about flexible working hours, engineer Development bonus etc only to find out was all lies. Senior Managers are in control of engineers in different areas across the country and will use engineers as scape goats if they dont look good on paper. Please Avoid at all cost
Corrupt Managers, Forced to lie to customers
You’re just a number on a piece of paper. CSR - Management is awful. Two in particular feel very threatened by their actions in ways and spoken down too. If one has something to say the other will always join in and put her input, very two faced. Constructive criticism was never used, whenever you do something wrong / low scores you’re felt asif the world has ended. Training was an absolute shambles, given in a rush and no proper thought taken.
Finishing after a shift
Management, Training, improvement, incentives.
Working for the business is OK besides the management being very bad and sneaky. No heads up if your doing anything wrong you will get fired on the spot. Training is basic mainly following briefs. People that help you are their staff not the management

I'm really disappointed that you feel like this, we're very proud of the high standards we maintain however we're also passionate about ensuring that we give everyone chance and treat them fairly. That said, there is always room for improvement and I'd love you to get in contact with me directly to discuss your specific concerns.Gareth - Director of Claims
