Assistant Court Manager in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire
on 8 August 2022
Very supportive colleagues and senior management
Having local and head office management support is a great asset. Only downside from my perspective was that the position was becoming more computer focused. I enjoyed interacting with residents, sorting out issues in their homes, carrying out minor repairs, I was regarded by my colleagues and local management as a Social Manager.

If you expect A life out of work this isn’t the place for you
Unnotified shift changes management doesn’t communicate with tenants which leaves them distraught and angry. If you have any issues and take them to the manager the manager says leave it with me and claims that something will be sorted however no action is ever taken. Pay-role staff mess up pay quite often. Constantly phoned and texted to pick up extra shifts even if it’s only 1-2 hours after you’ve finished a night shift. The colleagues are very supportive and great to work with. The tenants are also great and very appreciative of the care provided. The pay is of a higher rate then other care homes in the area

Nice place to work
Nice collegues, sometimes a confusing rota. Some managers are not that nice, but mostly nice. Depends on if you get lucky I guess. Quite a emotionally draining job,but you can get help if needed. Managers look after staff quite well. Pay always on time.Quite an active job, helps you stay fit. Overall a nice place to work. Would recommend for people who like to interact with others (elderly people).

Excellent employer
Been here over a decade with regular opportunities to progress. The current leadership is the best there's been, care about the staff and residents, want to do the right thing

Good professional development and career progression
I started as a temp employee doing maternity cover. I loved the H21 ethos and was keen to stay. Even as a temp, my manager still made me feel valued and offered me plenty of development opportunities. I am now 2 months into in a different, higher paying permanent position and eager to continue to progress.
