work place can be fast going because you are on a production line

i was in charge of the running of the plants 17 sack and 30 sack. I worked as a team of five keeping the plants running organising the staff . inputting on mixers making sure every things running as it should, making sure staff are competent and any issues come and talk to me I was very open and knew the job, capable of running there jobs. reporting to managers letting them know of any issues or on going. Sorting break downs out organising staff to be there and making sure we are back and running . checking times and work loads talking to fitters and electricians of any issues or on going .I think like any shop floor its the banta of the men and women that make the place and working together was very good getting the team to work for you is very rewarding.

Very bad place

Very bad place ' i worked so many places but hovis was worse one Management treat u very bad ' stress'stress'stress hovis is full of stress for drivers ' person who make a routes havent got any clue about lorriesVery bad start time ' Union is just waste of mony ' they will never help u even if it's not your faultThere is so many jobs around AvonmouthMy advice for everyone is avoid hovis

Great for progression

During my 6 years at Hovis I progressed from a driver to Transport front line manager and was invested in like nowhere I have worked before. There is a real team ethos amongst the management team and there are some tough decisions being made to improve a lot of legacy issues that surround the site. There are some really great drivers that work there and some that moan daily but never seem to leave even with a job market that is favourable to the drivers. Management listen to reasonable requests and concerns and will try and help drivers with last minute holidays and days off where possible. The union try and disrupt things and act inappropriately at times, but that is due to inexperience. Overall a great experience over 6 years and I’ve now moved on and progressed my career to the next level, which I couldn’t have done without Hovis.

Avonmonth where can I start absolutely disgusting place rats everywhere biggest in the office's running around peeing and pooing on the workers the managers are grown in a special nest and fed poison because they hate everything and everyone and couldn't organise a bun fight in this bakery!

Mismanaged and corrupt

Not somewhere I would recommend anyone applies for.you are insignificant and just another number.you are undervalued and your years of service don't count for anything. For a place that has mental health posters everywhere it's abit of a joke at the contradiction the way they treat people. If your related to management or know them outside of work then you will go far in this company.for such a big company I have never worked in an environment so mismanaged and corrupt. Managers trying to change return to work forms to try and get people sacked is the most serious one so far so basically not a good company to work for!!!
