Great employer
Insurance Consultant (Current Employee) - North West - 17 October 2023
Brilliant place to work with friendly staff and supportive management. Nothing is ever too much for the managers they have a lot of time for staff + developing staffs skills.

Great place to work
Branch Manager (Current Employee) - Sussex - 5 July 2023
Honestly a fantastic place to work! Lots of room for career progression and regular pay reviews. I was a former insurance consultant for A-Plan and worked my way into a management position within just a few years. Definitely a business that puts their people first and care about creating a open welcoming environment for you to work in!

Brill place to work where they care
N/A (Current Employee) - Witney, Oxfordshire - 26 May 2023
Brill workplace where they actually listen to you. Proud to work for a female ceo too who is brilliant and communicates with us like actual humans. Very happy

Awful
Insurance Agent (Former Employee) - Staines - 21 March 2023
I am limited as to what I can say but please, whatever you do, avoid this place, in particular Staines…. 21st Century job firmly stuck in the 80’s as far as culture, pay and processes are concerned. From a head off POV they say all the right things but at branch level there is an absolute disconnect. And I AM NOT A disgruntled ex employee… Trust me when I say leaving there was my choice and the best move I ever made.
Pros
None
Cons
Pay, Weekends, Management, culture…. senior Management

Good for progression but poor work life balance
Insurance Consultant (Former Employee) - Hampshire - 10 March 2023
I worked here for 10 months and I have to say I would not recommend. There is no parking so means you have to either pay for parking every day or park in random people’s front gardens which can lead to all sorts of problems. You get moved around departments even if you don’t want to move. The interview process is very long even though they are desperate for people so it makes you think the place is desirable but this is how they get you. It is heavily heavily targeted. The only good thing is you get small pay increases every 6 months or so.
Pros
Small pay increases.
Cons
Micro managed. Working 6 days a week & evenings.

Meh
Insurance Advisor (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 17 January 2023
Worked for 2 months and not liking it to be honest. Patronising management, doesn’t seem to be any progression from people who have worked there longer, pointless 8:30 start (first half hour your doing nothing) and have to work 2 Saturdays a month. Already thinking about leaving this place!

Good place to start, nowhere to go
Insurance Consultant (Former Employee) - Newbury - 21 December 2022
A-Plan offer a basic grounding in Insurance that would suit a school leaver with no prior knowledge. The caveat is that once you have trained the opportunities for further development and promotion are slim and the salary remains low.
Cons
Required to work Saturdays

Brilliant place to work
Insurance Broker (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 16 December 2022
Brilliant place to work, numerous benefits and caring management and team! It can be busy but you are given the support required to keep on top of this.

Avoid
Insurance Consultant (Former Employee) - Uk - 5 December 2022
One of the worst places I've ever worked, stressful with little to no help with a laughable salary for what you have to put up with. Avoid if you currently enjoy your life
Cons
Covid isn't taken very seriously

Old fashioned senior management
Insurance Consultant (Former Employee) - Lichfield - 13 October 2022
Senior management need to enter the 21st century. Also they need to understand if someone is working a weekend, they should get that time back in the week. NEVER believe them when they say you will only work every other weekend, as that’s not the case.
Pros
Ok benefits
Cons
Long hours for minimal benefit. No commission so no motivation.

Good place to work
Insurance Consultant (Current Employee) - Thatcham - 27 September 2022
Good place to work, progression is there if you want it. Good culture and happy people, can't really complain about anything. Only have to work two in four Saturdays

I really enjoy working for A-Plan
Insurance Advisor (Current Employee) - United Kingdom - 15 September 2022
I joined A-Plan in January 2022. Since joining the business, I have spoken to, met and worked with some amazing individuals. I can truly, hand on heart say that everyone has a client first and people first mindset. I am excited and proud to work for A-Plan and look forward to progressing my career with the business.

A great place to work that rewards people that care
Assistant Manager (Current Employee) - Gloucester - 15 September 2022
A typical day at work is fast paced, making lots of calls to clients, providing advice on their insurance needs and renewing their policies. The culture is very collaborative; we all muck in to help each other. The management reward those who put the effort in, which is why most people have been here at least 5 years. The hardest part is dealing with difficult clients. The most enjoyable part is when you help a client deal with a claim and they feel well looked after.

Avoid!
Insurance Consultant (Former Employee) - United Kingdom - 15 August 2022
The job is almost unbearable, old-fashioned, and extremely fast paced. You’re thrown in at the deep end and expected to hit unrealistic targets within a week or two of actively starting the role. If you don’t hit these targets then passive aggressive comments are thrown your way from management and you’re made to feel like a complete failure. I don’t think I went one week at A Plan without being reduced to tears at some point. You’re also forced to work every other Saturday as part of your contracted hours which everyone else in the company seems to think is normal (how is a 6 day working week normal?), and are expected to stay late to make sales even though you may be exhausted from the relentless day you’ve just had. No flexibility to work from home either. I really would stay far away from this company if you want a healthy work-life balance and don’t want to absolutely hate your life.

Steer clear
Commercial Broker and Claims Manager (Former Employee) - Worthing - 21 March 2022
A company that promises everything but offers nothing. The company expects more and more from you with no additional benefits. The communication is terrible and employees health and well being is very low on their list is priorities.

A great team and manager make this place a great place to work.
Insurance Consultant (Current Employee) - London South East, Greater London - 7 February 2022
A fast paced, fun place to work. The workload can be challenging but once you know what your doing it can be easy. The days can be repetitive but the different types of clientele break it up.

Not the best place to work
Insurance Consultant (Former Employee) - Wimbledon, Greater London - 8 June 2020
Management was pretty poor during my time there. They also used a lot of old working techniques and had no career progression available for staff members.

Relaxed and rewarding
Insurance Consultant (Former Employee) - Taunton, Somerset - 22 May 2020
Each day can be different in terms of activity like all jobs but the people I worked with made the job what it was. Once you understand how to do the job it was easy. In my opinion it was repetitive however like I said it was the people who made the job fun.
