Hoyer Employee Review
Probation Completed
Driver Technician (Current Employee) - Kingsbury, Warwickshire - 3 May 2022
The biggest problem I had initially with Hoyer was getting payed correctly, mainly due to a new PayRoll system implemented-called iTrent. Plus the fact that I am part time which is a new contract. The Depot Manager and Secretary are great, but their hands are tied as regards communication with head office and it takes so long to sort everything out!!! Saying that, I've been there 7 months now and have settled into the job very well. It's really enjoyable and the salary is competitive. Just a pity there is a big dividing line in both of terms of contract and salary between the Core Drivers (Long Termers) and White Fleet (New Employees)

Don't pay overtime on time you have to wait months for it . Don't give you enough time to do a good job . All drivers have had enough . As no work ethic in place . Drop loads as you won't get overtime if you go over alloted time . . Needs to sort this problem then it would keep drivers and the work would get done so simple really
Pros
Nice trucks
Cons
Funny shifts. Loads not enough time to do . Pay

Tanker company run by kids with degrees
Driver Technician (Former Employee) - Newport, Newport - 11 September 2021
Long, unsociable hours on the lowest paid contract in the company, despite being the most lucrative for the company. You are constantly driving tired because of the silly start times. The worst company I have worked for regarding communication between management, planners and drivers. Anyone who has worked for HOYER will know that it is run by management and planners who wouldn't know what a truck looked like if it ran them over in the street, but their degree in Law/Psychology/Media etc will help them step over everyone at the company to make it to the top to earn the big bonuses. Every driver is just a number. The wages every month are never correct, payroll department should be ashamed of themselves, especially after the CEO visited almost every depot in the country to personally apologise for the constant errors. A lot of money is spent on training drivers up for the job and then the LTM's try to find as many possible reasons to sack you as they can, constantly questioning what you are doing. Went into the job with a FULL ADR licence, upon renewal, was informed that they would only cover TWO classes and think myself lucky that it was the TWO and not the one needed for the job, with NO option to pay for the rest myself. Often told at the drop of a hat that you will be loading from the other depot, especially when there are product issues, so must always be prepared to be away from home, often for up to two weeks when the issues were really bad. The actual job in itself was pretty straight forward and repetitive, so pretty hard to make a mistake. But when all the -
Pros
Training, weekend rate and Christmas time off on rest.
Cons
Terrible communication, poor management skills, dangerous hours.

Hard work and run by idiots
Fuel Tanker Driver (Current Employee) - Kingsbury - 13 January 2022
The job is easy but the management and planners are a joke, they have no clue in what they are doing, it’s a shame really as the job could be one of the best in the UK, Hoyer need to realise there is other jobs out there with less responsibility for more money.
Pros
Discount fuel card.
Cons
Long hours planning is a joke shift pattern is not for a family man.
