Fun workplace
Intern (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 11 September 2023
The career progression at ibm was laid out in front of me and it was clear to me that this was a place that cares about its employees. As an intern a lot was expected of me however guidance was never far away and there was abundant learning resources

Pretty decent, very corporate.
Systems Engineer (Current Employee) - Winchester, Hampshire - 17 July 2023
If you're looking for a good corporate working environment, IBM is pretty good. Pay is ok, most people are nice, sometimes the workload can be quite extreme depending on project requirements.

Not great
Talent Acquisition Partner (Current Employee) - Remote - 15 July 2023
Benefits are lacking. You feel small in such a large global corporation. Trainings seem to feel like BS/extra work. There has been a lot of lay offs.

Good learning opportunities, career progression can be challenging
Project Manager (Current Employee) - United Kingdom - 23 May 2023
IBM provides ample learning opportunities, especially in the field of Cloud as Hybrid Cloud is the corporate strategy. However career progression can be challenging as there are too many boxes that need to be ticked before you can be moved to the next band

Great place to work at
Assistant Manager (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 10 April 2023
Super fun place to work at, we had many days that are spent to blend together as a workforce, you get lots of reconigiton and rewards for the work you do - great place for middle managers!

became a toxic workplace
Level 2.5 Centralised Technical Support (Former Employee) - Greenock - 6 April 2023
when I stated at IBM it was a wonderful place to work but by the time, I left the work environment had turned toxic with manager using tactics to force people, they did not like for personal reason out the door the number of people with real talent lost to this was socking we were also paid well below industry standard as there not been a pay raise for many years before I joined and none after
Pros
work colleagues where great people
Cons
nepotism was required to get anywhere

Just another number
Sr. Engineer (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 4 April 2023
Typical corporate, treat you like a resource and if you are not a young twenty something then you are not valued. The benefits are decent but living with the constant threat of redundancy is not fun.

Intern (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 23 March 2023
Great place to work at. Had a wonderful time and learnt a lot from seniors. The atmosphere of the company was good. Would return there to work again if offered a job in the future.

Great team
QA Tester (Current Employee) - Belfast, County Antrim - 21 March 2023
My team is fantastic - as far as QA work goes, I got lucky. Developers on my team write detailed test instructions and are welcoming of follow up questions. Every manager I've had here has been extremely supportive and encouraged me to keep learning.

Lack of leadership, poor culture to encourage learning and growth
Consultant (Current Employee) - London - 17 March 2023
Getting the right senior leadership team is crucial to success. Take time to understand who on your team is supporting you. Great place for a new grad to learn the business.
Pros
Great brand, healthy salary

Stressfull
ATM Engineer (Former Employee) - South East - 8 March 2023
Was a good job before TUPE over from G4S.Ibm are fantastic at losing contracts and getting rid of decent engineers.Once they got rid of the original dispatch, and brought in the manpower muppets,it went downhill.Asking you to travel 80 miles to an important job, when you have 3 hours left on shift.Shifts also at working 4 days over 7 at 10 hour days can be awkward. You have to work around the job. Also any overtime is standard pay. The lads and lasses are great, high management are teeth pulling awful.
Pros
Not much
Cons
Everything

Good benefits and training
Consultant (Current Employee) - United Kingdom - 7 March 2023
Large company, good benefits, good training. Suffers from being a US company and they are always looking to make cuts. Salary average, bonuses very poor if you get them, even for a high performer. Offers good training but hard to move up

Good work-life balance
Project Support Administrator (Current Employee) - Leicester - 22 February 2023
A lot of your work can be repetitive and very hard to climb the ladder. The learning courses are great to add on your CV. You have to sit in your role for a while in order to be considered to rotate into another department.
Pros
Remote Working, learning courses
Cons
Hard to progress
