Great workplace, super helpful managers, always there for you. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The wages are good and time off is great too. Amazing staff and good bonuses.

Better places to work
Home Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Barnsley, South Yorkshire - 27 November 2023
If you like plenty off overtime on a part time contract then this is a perfect opportunity. Other than that if you like working over your finishing time again this is perfect. Management don’t care about you unless your in there pockets doing all overtime
Pros
Plenty off overtime
Cons
Plenty off late finishes past your contracted hours

Decent pay
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Eastleigh, Hampshire - 24 November 2023
The people make it fun to work there! Good pay rate for younger people. Variety of jobs to do from picking to tills. Some of the management were quite difficult at times as they didn’t understand people’s personal circumstances, but the store manager is lovely! Very flexible schedule aswell.

good place to work for part time
Online Picker (Former Employee) - London South East, Greater London - 24 November 2023
It’s definitely a good role/job if you are busy during the day or have other obligations as your whole day is free. I would recommend it to anyone who is okay With waking up early hours of the morning, it’s more convenient if the store your work is close to you.

work is fine, but depends who your manager is
Retail Assistant (Former Employee) - Selsdon, Greater London - 23 November 2023
the work is fine, depends what store you work in as some are busier than others, and depends who your manager is as some managers don’t know how to talk to their staff

Bad place to work
Duty Manager (Former Employee) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire - 22 November 2023
The store I work in has very low morale, colleagues are under consistent pressure, store bites off more than it can handle. Low amount of sales, low staff wages, not many benefits, for a lot of hassle.
Pros
Flexibility
Cons
High Pressure, Low Morale

Productive workplace
Customer Assistant (Former Employee) - Rawtenstall, Lancashire - 21 November 2023
Nice team of people to work with. No complaints. The job is what it says on the tin. Management could’ve been slightly better but I don’t think most decisions were in their hands.

Good place to work
Retail Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire - 21 November 2023
For my age, the money was good, busy at Christmas, but easy to deal with, especially as a part-time job. Managers are understanding, only con is that you're on your feet all day.

alright as part time
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Middlesex - 20 November 2023
ok work, stacking selves and manning tills. hours are ok too but can be added without notice. when closing you are not paid for the time spent after your actual finishing time and when asked to be paid for that time, are told to work faster. Nice staff but rude customers.

Decent place to work
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Margate, Kent - 20 November 2023
Good pay and staff discount and christmas vouchers given. Some staff don’t seem to know what they are doing though. Left a few years ago so might’ve changed by now

Low pay for doing the job of two people.
Retail Assistant (Former Employee) - Manchester - 19 November 2023
Always under staffed as Head Office like to get their pound of flesh from employees, minimum wage and low hours. Not quite a zero hour contract but not far off, you're expected to have full availability so difficult having a second job but you don't have enough hors to survive financially. Store manager, colleagues and most of the local customers were great, just couldn't afford to live on the low wage and often low weekly hours.
Pros
Employee discount, nice local store and team.
Cons
Under paid and under employed with low pay and too few hours.

Slowly turning in to the old version of lidi
Store Manager (Current Employee) - Belfast - 17 November 2023
More work less staff. The cost cutting in the company is getting so bad it reminds me of when you went to lidi and seen one staff member and queues down the aisle
Cons
Unrealistic work loads

Such a lovely place to work
Retail Assistant (Current Employee) - Merseyside - 16 November 2023
Enjoyable place to work! Management are all so lovely and accommodating. Don’t get overworked but give you enough to keep you busy. Would definitely recommend.

Multitaskers with great stamina and speed
Duty manager (Current Employee) - Liverpool, Merseyside - 16 November 2023
In recent years the company has started to considerably reduce hours in stores, cutting overheads. This I understand but the work we do in store doesn’t quite justify the minimum wage we take home. Finishing the morning delivery, bread and milk deliveries, pulling stock, Uber and just eat picks, customer queries, putting away home deliveries, stopping shoplifters, all whilst trying to get everyone served and out of the store quickly. I love a challenge and thrive off it but it is going a bit far now.

Job happiness depends on the managers which change every 6 months
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Erith - 16 November 2023
If you had a good manager then everyone was happy and got along well, but unfortunately with the switching of Store Managers every couple of months this could change drastically as every Store Manager wanted to leave their mark. Changing procedures and hours around, you could go from 40 hour work weeks with one manager down to 8 with the next.

Hard work!
Online Picker (Current Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 14 November 2023
Online picking is hard and very physical - good team though and hours (5am-8am) are really good. Hardest part of the job is stacking the crates after the order has been picked.
