Caring I worked for Idem before and have come back. I’ve worked in a home that was difficult, challenging and hard work. But the management at the time were brilliant. Senior managers arrived at the home at 2am with chocolate and stayed to support. We were given debriefs, time off as needed, and were always called on to be a part of the reflective process - it really was a supportive learning environment.Idem supported me with my family issues, adjusted my contract as needed and after a difficult day the managers would always phone later in the day to check you were ok.
A Senior Management team more challenging than the young people!IDEM sell you their supposed culture by throwing dogma and money at you- initially you are impressed. Ironically, this was quickly undermined by a very inexperienced senior manager who holds little regard for Confidentiality or HR law. Routinely belittled in front of staff and young people, micromanaged and no clear goalposts at all. A very difficult and unpleasant working environment

My biggest regret was leaving idem.I had an amazing 3 years with this company. Amazing experiences and opportunities. Lots of days out and laughs on a daily basis. Yes it could be challenging at times but aren't all jobs? I made some lifelong friends and management still reach out to me today to make sure I'm ok, my biggest career regret was leaving. The pay is so much more than many other jobs out there. And the sleep rate is amazing. You build such strong relationships with your colleagues and the young people you care for. Many great memories that will last a lifetime.
