Management

Indeed featured review

Management is horrendous they do not have a good sence of time and so it leaves their employees battling with what is the right or wrong thing to do. It is very bad.

Insights into Impact Energy

Based on 12 survey responses
Areas for improvement
  • Supportive environment

  • Energising work tasks

Stressfulness

Do not fall for the high salary you will never obtain that or anything near it, they do not have the capacity of installers to hit those figures. The company run on paperwork even though everything is available on the iPad software, it's hard work double or sometimes trebling the amount of writing you have to put on this paperwork.

Pros

Commission

Cons

Working Away from Home

I would strongly advise you to not work for Impact Energy Ltd

Apart from the - Invasive cameras in every corner of the office which management alarmingly had linked to a big brother flat screen tv in their office - Most new starters lasting 3 days at most before leaving - Signing leaving cards every week due to the toxic workplace environment created by management - Non existent job security (the people who did stay were sacked with no warning or notice)- The morally questionable nature of the work you are told to do- There being 2 toilets for 40+ staff - Being forced into a primary school type seating plan - Only being given a contract after 3 months of asking - Zero support from management This is a great place to work

Toxic working environment, avoid at all cost.

Impact Energy is the worst place I have ever had the misfortune of working for. Management is incompetent, asking far too much of employees and not listening to employee concerns. Staff turnover at this company is the worst I've seen, with employees coming and going within even days or weeks due to the terrible conditions. Job security is non-existent with management hiring and then firing at will with no regard for their employees circumstances and with no notice period. You are expected to do work well beyond what is advertised to you with zero chance of increased pay, training or advancement. Cameras are also at every angle of the building, which are watched constantly from the managers office on a large flat screen television, at one point even commenting on private messages they have seen on your phone screen. Impact Energy are cold, uncaring and at certain points even misogynistic in the way they operate as a business. If you value your mental health, do not work for this company.

Please don't work here

This is by far probably the worst run place I've worked. Most of us got the sack with zero days notice. Pay is poor, very overworked. Management are laughable. Owners don't get involved with day to day so you've just got two managers who have no idea how to talk to people, and are in general a little clueless of how to effectively run a business. Staff turnover was always high, there's cameras everywhere, they give you a seating plan like you're back in school, honestly it's a bit weird. Just control and power complexes. So yeah, avoid this one like.

Pros

Met some good people there.

Cons

Pay, management, no progression, everything under the roof.

Don’t bother

(Tip of the iceberg) Wasn’t paid properly, abusive and aggressive unfair management, wasn’t given a contract, tried to make everyone do overtime and saturdays, kept making false promises in regards to rewards which were never given, humiliated and threatened people in front of the whole team, management were rude to customers which we then had to deal with, barely any training given then when you ask questions you’re straight up ignored

Productive Workplace

Typical Day at work: Receive a boiler - Purchase pipes and fittings - Attend site - Remove old boiler - Install new boiler - Commission boiler What I learned: Alternate methods of installing pipe work Workplace culture: Mixed Hardest part of the job: Receiving correct wage packets Most enjoyable part of the job: Leaving happy customers after installing new boilers for people who really needed them.
