Organisation lacks leadership and structure. There is a lot of deadwood that need replacing. Overall I found it was not a great place to work and bad behaviour is covered up
Pros
Payday
Cons
No progression and too many cons to mention
The IOPC is an amazing place to work. The problem with the IOPC, like many other civil service organisations, it is difficult to manage incompetence.
Pros
Flexibility, staff benefits, pension
Cons
Management
Overall, I enjoyed my time at the company. I was there when it was still IPCC, and saw the change to the IOPC. There were a number of opportunities for people to develop (unfortunately not in my field).
There was however a perception of unfair recruitment processes sometimes rightly but quite often wrongly.
IOPC is a family friendly organisation with great staff to work with. Unfortunately they seem more interested in correcting spelling and grammatical errors in reports than investigating.
Pros
Family friendly
Cons
Too slow conducting daily business
