Its fine
There's nothing bad about it but you make very little money and you're locked into hours a month in advance, there's not a lot you can do if a student decides they don't like you, the company will rarely take your side and it's frustrating.

Average pay with flexible hours but no management or support
When you have hours (usually about 2.5 a day for me), everything goes well. The students are great and the pay is ok for the fairly easy work you do. But if you don't have regular hours, you are on your own, and you may as well not have a job.

It was a great company o work for, then the wages went downhill!
When I first working for iTutor it was was fantastic. There was ongoing training and you could decide the hours you wanted to work. The wage was also very good. Unfortunately this all changed when a new contract had to be signed which meant less of an income and fewer lessons. This meant I had to leave. Where once before it was a company that seemed to care for its staff, it all changed with new ownership. If the wages and the lessons were to go back to what they used to be, I would go back. Until then, I need a job that pays the bills.

Great place to work
I worked at iTG for four years, made good money and it was flexible around my children. I have only left due to the new regulations that are affecting ALL online ESL companies. So companies like iTG will not exist shortly.

Has deteriorated after the management/company change
I've worked for Itutorgroup for almost 3 years. At the start it was excellent. There was a good onboarding process and you were able to access many online sessions given by senior tutors. My pay was good. I really enjoyed teaching the students. However, after the management change things have continued to deteriorate. We had to accept a new pay structure that was supposed to be better. However, my pay has decreased. Many tutors were axed. Now there are very few sessions with senior tutors. At the start I was getting lessons for most of the sessions I booked. Now, I only seem to get 1 or 2 sessions for 6-8 sessions booked. Sometimes I get 4. I used to teach demo sessions but no longer. I have hardly ever missed a session and my ratings are high. I no longer feel valued. When you send a message asking why you are not getting many lessons you don't get an informative reply. I've had lessons that have been cancelled at short notice after I've prepared material on Manycam and extra resources. It's sad as the students are enjoyable to teach and the platform works well.

None. They just tell you what you have to. Seriously it’s a low paid, online factory.
