Great place to work, but, sadly, still ruled using fear. Bell-curve appraisal system designed to make people feel they are never quite good enough. Lots of politics and much more about whether your face fits and how well you tow the party line than about innovation and individuality. The criteria under which you are deemed to shine is very limited.
Pros
Rigorous and in-depth interview process, Gym, Subsidised restaurant, all the other benefits that you would expect from a top financial institution.
Cons
Middle management under huge pressure, damaging team morale. Bad appraisal system.
Working at J P Morgan was a good experience. It's a very busy environment but you're fully supported. The hours can be long but you're rewarded with good bonuses. I enjoyed working there as they treated each person fairly! Good promotion prospects. Good benefits package.
Pros
Good pay and bonuses
Cons
Long hours
If you put in the effort you reap the rewards. Hard work is recognised. Good management generally. Excellent remuneration package compared to other employers in the area. Good company to work for.
Pros
On site facilities, pay, pension, health care
Cons
Often long hours, quite stressful
Good and supportive place to grow. Graduate scheme entry levels available as well as mums returning to work You can choose to learn or just earn a salary. Young High grades and focused graduates are taken on to learn new skills.
Pros
Nice place
Cons
none

Pros

Cons
Great hours good life
Being part of a dynamic information sharing team. On call to all 640 staff, from senior management to compliance offices in EMEA region. Gain 20 years experience and knowledge of Compliance, in areas of Business Resiliency and Records Management. JPM has a culture of work life balance and People Community. The department is overseen by Global Management who are very approachable and involved.
log in at 08:00am log off anytime from 17:00 to 19:00 depending on workload.
Learned various computer language skills i.e. Natural Adabas
Work culture in my department was overworked and get it done.
Unrealistic work loads and project time frames.
superb company, excellent leadership and development opportunities- particular focus given to internal mobility. Can be stressful at times but you are remunerated accordingly
Good place to learn and grow. Excellent people and brilliant training and development programs. Mentoring ship and immense mobility opportunities. Very strict on budgets
Pros
Big Brand
Cons
Compensation not good
Enjoyable place to work. Developed key skills in my time in JP Morgan across multiple different business groups. Was provided with flexibility to work from home 2 days a week which was excellent for work life balance.
Very good place to work the support is great and as a company the staff are very well looked after . Location wise it is handy for local shops and the provide a great private bus service
Tier 1 bank and they expect you to work and put the hours in but you are compensated and acknowledged for it. If you are ambitious and driven there is no better place to work and progress, if you are looking for a 9-5 then it is not the bank for you.
This is my 2nd period at the bank and realised being away how far ahead of others it is
it is a good place to work if you enjoy working in a fast paced environment and can think on your feet. work as part of a team and move to different areas in the site
Prior to commencing work at JP my CV was quite attractive to real world employer's. Customized mythologies do not benefit, people are more hesitant about giving me an opportunities now. I have also lost all my accounting experience which is deemed no longer relevant.
Now I am even struggling to get an interview with them despite years experience.
Pros
Some benefits
Cons
industry specific skill set
Great work ethic and team work across all regions and would highly recommended and would be great to come back to work here.
Will be applying again :)
good experience: you'll meet people from who you'll learn a lot. Passed pass env. Smart people. Good atmosphere.
only pb is that like all big companies, difficult to have visibility.
It is a good place to work but not if you want to put in extra and receive extra compensation. all assistants tend to get the same salary regardless of how hard they work.
however, if you just want an easy job with good benefits and not do overtime, then JPM is good.
Depends on the team, but a lot of politics which is somewhat standard for big companies like this. Personal preference for work environment but many find that this culture creates a stressful work environment and unnecessary anxiety.
Great company and the limits to your career are endless
Pay is handsome but they will make you work for it
VEry stressful at times when you consider the size of some of the transaction you handle
